Product Overview
The Steelite Lusum Safety Trainer S1P HRO offers a contemporary, low-profile alternative to traditional heavy-duty safety boots. Combining the athletic aesthetic of a modern trainer with the rigorous protection required in professional environments, this footwear is designed for those who require agility without sacrificing safety. The striking two-tone black design ensures you remain presentable while the technical specifications provide comprehensive peace of mind for those working on their feet all day.
Key Features
- Integrated Steel Toecap: Provides vital protection against heavy falling objects and compression, ensuring your feet remain safe in high-risk environments.
- Steel Midsole Protection: A penetration-resistant steel layer protects the sole of the foot from sharp objects on the ground, such as nails or glass.
- Heat Resistant Rubber Outsole (HRO): Specifically designed to withstand temperatures up to 300°C, making it suitable for environments with high floor temperatures.
- Cow Suede Leather Upper: Offers a breathable yet durable exterior that conforms to the foot for improved comfort during long shifts.
- EVA/Rubber Hybrid Sole: Combines the shock-absorbing properties of EVA with the hard-wearing grip of rubber for all-day comfort.
Design & Performance
Constructed with a premium cow suede leather upper, these trainers strike a balance between a professional appearance and functional durability. The low-profile design is engineered for mobility, allowing for a full range of motion that is often restricted by higher-cut boots. Despite their lightweight trainer appearance, they are substantial and sturdy, providing the structural support necessary for long periods of standing or walking.
The dual-density sole is a standout technical feature. The EVA midsole acts as a cushion to reduce fatigue by absorbing impact, while the rubber outsole provides the necessary traction and heat resistance. This combination ensures that the shoe performs reliably on varied surfaces, from slick kitchen floors to warm industrial environments.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation services, such as embroidery or printing, on the Steelite Lusum Safety Trainer. The primary reason is to maintain the safety integrity of the footwear. Piercing the cow suede leather with embroidery needles can weaken the material and potentially compromise the certified safety standards. Furthermore, the texture of suede does not provide a suitable surface for heat-applied transfers, ensuring the product remains in its optimal, manufactured state for your protection.
Use Cases
Given the S1P HRO rating, these trainers are particularly well-suited for professionals in the catering and hospitality sectors, including chefs, bakers, and butchers, where floor temperatures may be elevated and spillages are common. They are also an excellent choice for warehouse staff and tradespeople who require a more flexible, sporty alternative to traditional work boots while maintaining high safety standards.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the type of socks you intend to wear. Many professionals find that a slightly roomier fit allows for thermal or cushioned work socks, which can enhance comfort during extended shifts. As these are suede trainers, they are best suited for indoor environments or dry conditions; if you frequently work outdoors in wet weather, a full-grain leather alternative from our range may be more appropriate.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and aesthetic of your safety trainers, regular care is essential. Suede leather should never be saturated with water or put through a machine wash, as this will cause the leather to stiffen and eventually crack, destroying the comfort and safety properties of the shoe.
We recommend using a dedicated suede brush to remove surface dirt and debris after each shift. For the outsoles, ensure they are kept clear of trapped stones or grease to maintain their slip-resistant and heat-resistant properties. Allowing the shoes to dry naturally at room temperature—away from direct heat sources like radiators—will prevent the leather from becoming brittle and failing prematurely.
