Product Overview

The Anti-Static ESD Polo Shirt is a specialized garment engineered for professionals working in Electrostatically Protected Areas (EPA). Designed to combine technical compliance with a polished appearance, this long-sleeved polo offers a superior alternative to standard workwear for those who require electrostatic resistance without sacrificing comfort.

Constructed with a high percentage of cotton and integrated carbon fibre, this polo shirt is specifically designed for warm environments where temperature regulation and safety are equally paramount. The addition of a concealed press-stud placket ensures a clean, corporate finish that is suitable for both technical environments and professional meetings.

Key Features

  • Integrated carbon fibre woven throughout the fabric provides permanent anti-static protection by safely dissipating electrostatic charges.

  • The high cotton content ensures the fabric is breathable and soft against the skin, providing comfort during extended shifts.

  • A concealed press-stud placket offers a streamlined, professional aesthetic while reducing the risk of the garment catching on sensitive equipment.

  • The lightweight fabric construction allows for maximum mobility and comfort in temperature-controlled laboratory or production settings.

Design & Performance

The performance of this garment is rooted in its sophisticated material composition. By weaving 4% carbon fibre directly into a 96% cotton base, the polo provides consistent ESD protection that lasts the lifetime of the shirt. Unlike topical chemical treatments that can diminish over time, this woven solution ensures the garment remains a reliable piece of safety equipment.

The design prioritises the wearer's daily experience. The natural properties of cotton provide excellent moisture-wicking capabilities, which is essential for maintaining focus during intricate technical tasks. The long-sleeved design offers additional coverage, ensuring a consistent barrier across the arms in sensitive work zones.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

At MyWorkwear, we understand that maintaining a corporate identity is just as important as technical safety. This polo is well-suited for both print and embroidery customisation. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a sophisticated, professional look, ideal for company logos or staff names on the chest. For larger, more prominent designs or departmental identification, our high-quality printing provides a bold and durable finish.

Our expert team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976. We ensure that any customisation applied maintains the professional integrity of the garment without compromising its specific anti-static properties.

Use Cases

This garment is specifically designed for individuals working in electronics manufacturing, telecommunications, and aerospace engineering. It is an essential choice for anyone operating within an EPA where static discharge could damage sensitive components. Its smart design also makes it appropriate for supervisory staff and technicians who move between production areas and customer-facing environments.

Why MyWorkwear

With nearly five decades of experience, MyWorkwear has established itself as a leading authority in technical workwear. Based in Telford, our heritage dates back to 1976, giving us the expertise to handle complex requirements for businesses across the UK. We do not simply supply clothing; we provide well-engineered solutions that protect your team and represent your brand with distinction.

Practical Advice

As this is a lightweight garment, it serves as an excellent base layer in colder months or as a standalone piece in climate-controlled conditions. When selecting your size, consider the fit required for technical work; this specific item is provided in a 4XL to ensure a professional and comfortable fit for all members of your workforce.

Caring for your product

To maintain the technical anti-static properties and the garment's professional appearance, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the carbon fibres and cause the cotton to shrink, affecting the fit and functionality.

It is vital that you do not use bleach when cleaning this polo. Bleach will break down the fabric's integrity and compromise the conductive carbon fibres, which would render the ESD protection ineffective.

For drying, please avoid the use of a tumble dryer. We recommend line drying to prevent heat damage and excessive wear on the fibres. If ironing is necessary, use a maximum temperature of 150°C to ensure the fabric remains crisp without scorching the synthetic components.

For deep cleaning, professional dry cleaning using Tetrachloroethene is permissible, which can help remove industrial contaminants while preserving the shirt's shape and technical performance.
