Product Overview

The Nimbus Williamsburg represents a sophisticated evolution of the standard hooded sweatshirt, bridging the gap between high-end fashion and functional professional attire. It is a heavyweight garment designed for those who require a garment that is as comfortable in a client meeting as it is on a site visit. Crafted from a premium organic cotton-rich blend, it offers a refined silhouette without sacrificing the durability required for daily wear.

With an emphasis on subtle, high-quality details—including leather accents and a robust YKK metal zip—this sweatshirt provides a polished appearance that elevates any corporate uniform. The use of combed long-stabled fibre organic cotton ensures a soft hand-feel that only improves with time, while the brushed fleecy lining provides essential warmth in cooler environments.

Key Features
  • Double-Layer Hood: The inclusion of a double-layer fabric hood provides additional structure and thermal insulation, ensuring the garment maintains its shape and keeps the wearer warm.
  • YKK Metal Main Zip: Utilising a genuine YKK zip ensures long-term reliability and smooth operation, preventing the common failure points found in lesser hardware.
  • Brushed Fleece Lining with Short Shave Treatment: This specific treatment provides a luxurious interior feel while significantly reducing pilling, ensuring the garment looks newer for longer.
  • Combed Organic Cotton: The use of long-stabled fibres results in a smoother, stronger fabric that reflects a commitment to both quality and sustainable sourcing.
  • Designer Accents: Rugged drawstrings, leather detailing, and a signature neck loop provide a modern, premium aesthetic that distinguishes this from standard workwear.

Design & Performance

The Williamsburg is engineered from a substantial 70% combed organic cotton and 30% double-dyed polyester blend. This specific composition is chosen to provide the natural breathability and comfort of cotton alongside the structural stability and colour-fastness of polyester. The double-dyeing process ensures a deep, consistent colour that resists fading even after repeated cycles in the wash.

The technical "short shave" treatment applied to the brushed fleece lining is a critical detail for professionals. By removing the long, loose fibres that typically lead to bobbling or pilling, Nimbus has created a hoodie that maintains a smooth surface and premium appearance through intensive use. The ribbing, containing 5% elastane, ensures that cuffs and hemlines retain their elasticity and do not sag over time.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The heavyweight fabric and stable weave of the Williamsburg make it an ideal candidate for both print and embroidery. The high cotton content provides a smooth, flat surface that allows for exceptionally crisp print finishes, making it perfect for large, bold branding or detailed graphics.

For a more traditional and authoritative look, the dense fabric easily supports high-stitch-count embroidery without puckering. This is the preferred choice for company logos or staff names, providing a "proper" professional finish that withstands the rigours of the workplace. Our in-house team in Telford, with expertise dating back to 1976, handles all customisation to ensure your branding meets our exacting standards.

Use Cases

The Williamsburg is perfectly suited for creative agencies, technical consultants, and premium trade businesses who want to present a modern, professional image. It is also an excellent choice for corporate gifting or event wear where a standard promotional hoodie would not suffice. Given its substantial weight and fleece lining, it is particularly effective for outdoor staff or those working in temperature-controlled warehouses.

Practical Advice

This sweatshirt is a heavyweight item and works exceptionally well as a standalone outer layer in transitional weather or as a substantial mid-layer under a waterproof shell. The size range is inclusive, spanning from S up to 4XL, ensuring a consistent look across your entire team. We recommend reviewing the size guide to ensure the best fit, as the modern cut is designed to be fashionable yet functional.

Caring for your product

To maintain the premium feel and structural integrity of your Williamsburg sweatshirt, it is vital to follow the care instructions provided on the sewn tag. Proper maintenance ensures that the organic cotton fibres remain soft and the technical short-shave treatment continues to prevent pilling.

We recommend washing the garment inside out to protect both the fabric surface and any custom branding from abrasive contact with the washing machine drum. Avoiding harsh chemicals and bleaches is essential, as these can break down the organic cotton fibres and cause the double-dyed colours to lose their vibrancy prematurely.

When drying, air drying is preferable to maintain the garment's shape. If ironing is required, ensure you iron on the reverse of any printed areas to avoid damaging the customisation. Taking these small steps will ensure your professional investment continues to look its best for years to come.
