Caring for your product
To maintain the technical performance and the loft of the down insulation, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so can result in the loss of thermal efficiency and damage to the water-repellent coating.
We recommend a very mild domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Using high temperatures can degrade the synthetic Spandex fibres and cause the recycled polyester to lose its shape over time.
Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleach is highly abrasive and will damage the loom-woven chambers, leading to potential insulation leaks and fabric failure.
Tumble drying is permitted, provided it is done at a low temperature. In fact, low-heat tumble drying is often necessary for down products to help 'fluff' the feathers and redistribute the insulation evenly. When ironing, use a maximum sole-plate temperature of 110°C and do not use steam, as excessive heat can melt the synthetic shell or damage the Bionic Finish.
Finally, avoid dry cleaning. The harsh chemicals used in the dry-cleaning process can strip the natural oils from the down and feathers, making them brittle and significantly reducing the jacket's ability to keep you warm.
