Product Overview

The Larkwood LW800 Sustainable Sweatshirt represents a sophisticated approach to children's workwear, balancing environmental responsibility with the practical demands of daily wear. Constructed from a blend of regenerated cotton and recycled polyester, this medium-weight garment provides a soft, brushed back fleece interior that ensures warmth and comfort for the wearer. Its design is intentionally clean and modern, featuring a tag-free neck to prevent irritation, making it an excellent choice for businesses looking to outfit younger teams or provide high-quality, eco-conscious promotional apparel.

Key Features
  • Sustainable Fabric Blend: Utilising 60% regenerated cotton and 40% recycled polyester, this sweatshirt supports a circular economy while maintaining the durability required for active use.
  • V-Stitch Detail: The flatlock V stitching at the centre front neck is not merely decorative; it provides additional reinforcement to a high-stress area, ensuring the garment retains its shape.
  • YKK Popper Fastening: Included on sizes from 0/6 months to 24/36 months, these high-quality shoulder fasteners allow for effortless dressing without compromising the integrity of the neckline.
  • Tag-Free Design: The absence of a traditional neck label eliminates physical discomfort for sensitive skin and allows for easy rebranding with custom neck prints.
  • Knitted Rib Cuffs and Neck: The self-fabric knitted ribbing ensures a secure fit that prevents heat loss and maintains a sharp silhouette over time.

Design & Performance

The engineering of the LW800 focuses on the long-term performance of the fabric. The medium-weight fleece has been brushed on the reverse to trap air and provide insulation without adding unnecessary bulk. This choice of fabric composition ensures that the sweatshirt is resilient against the pilling often associated with lower-quality synthetic blends. The integration of recycled polyester adds a level of tensile strength, meaning the garment can withstand the rigours of the playground or the nursery while remaining soft to the touch.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The smooth surface of the regenerated cotton blend makes this sweatshirt an ideal canvas for both print and embroidery. For a truly professional and traditional appearance, we recommend embroidery for logos or school emblems; our high-precision machinery ensures that the stitching sits firmly within the fleece without pulling. Alternatively, for large, vibrant graphics or event-based branding, screen printing or heat transfer processes work exceptionally well on this fabric.

At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team has been perfecting these techniques since 1976. We handle every stage of the customisation process in-house, ensuring that your branding is applied with the technical expertise required to match the garment's quality.

Use Cases

This garment is perfectly suited for nursery and primary school uniforms, where durability and comfort are paramount. It also serves as an excellent option for children's sports clubs, community groups, or eco-conscious retail brands looking to offer sustainable merchandise. The wide size range, spanning from infants to young children, allows for consistent branding across different age groups.

Why MyWorkwear

Choosing MyWorkwear means partnering with a company that has nearly half a century of experience in the garment decoration industry. Established in 1976 and operating from our specialised facility in Telford, we bring an authoritative level of knowledge to every order. We understand that your brand’s reputation is reflected in the quality of the clothing you choose, which is why we only stock brands like Larkwood that meet our rigorous standards for construction and ethical manufacturing.

Practical Advice

The LW800 is designed with a standard fit in mind. For the smaller sizes (under 3 years), take advantage of the YKK popper shoulder to avoid stretching the collar when dressing. When layering, this sweatshirt works effectively over a lightweight cotton t-shirt or polo shirt, providing a versatile temperature-controlled outfit for varying environments.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and the soft handle of the brushed fleece, we recommend a domestic synthetic wash at 30°C. Washing at higher temperatures may cause the recycled fibres to degrade prematurely or result in minor shrinkage.

It is essential to avoid the use of bleach, as this will damage the dye and the recycled polyester fibres. We advise against tumble drying; instead, allow the garment to air dry naturally to preserve the elasticity of the ribbed cuffs and neck. If ironing is required, use a low setting and always iron on the reverse to protect any custom print or embroidery from heat damage. Finally, ensure dark colours are washed separately to prevent any potential colour migration.
