Product Overview
The Larkwood Crew Neck Sweatshirt with shoulder poppers is a specialized garment designed to meet the rigorous demands of infant and toddler daily wear. Engineered with both the child's comfort and the caregiver's convenience in mind, this sweatshirt serves as a reliable layering piece. The inclusion of high-quality YKK popper openings on the shoulder ensures that dressing and undressing is a straightforward process, minimizing distress for the child and effort for the adult.
Key Features
- YKK Shoulder Popper Opening: These industry-standard fasteners allow for an expanded neck opening, ensuring the garment can be fitted easily without pulling or discomfort.
- Knitted Ribbing at Neck, Cuffs, and Hem: The ribbed construction provides a secure yet flexible fit that retains its shape even after repeated stretching and active play.
- Twin Needle Stitching: This reinforced stitching technique is applied across critical seams to prevent fraying and ensure the garment remains intact throughout its lifecycle.
- Brushed-Back Fleece: The interior fabric is treated to create a soft, insulating layer that provides warmth and a gentle feel against sensitive skin.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a blend of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, this sweatshirt is built for resilience. The high cotton content provides essential breathability, while the polyester component ensures the garment holds its structure and resists excessive shrinking. The medium-weight fabric is substantial enough to provide warmth in cooler conditions without being overly bulky, making it ideal for year-round use in nursery or playgroup settings.
The garment is further distinguished by its ethical and safety credentials, holding SEDEX, Amfori BSCI, and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 accreditations. This ensures that the sweatshirt has been produced under fair working conditions and is free from harmful substances, which is a critical consideration for infant apparel.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Larkwood Crew Neck Sweatshirt is an excellent candidate for custom branding. For a professional and long-lasting finish, such as nursery logos or individual names, embroidery is the preferred method. It adds a textured, high-quality appearance that withstands frequent laundering.
For larger, more vibrant designs—perhaps for a specific event or promotional use—printing is a highly effective alternative. Our in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring that every logo is applied with precision. Whether you choose the tactile finish of embroidery or the bold clarity of print, your customisation will be handled by experts.
Use Cases
This sweatshirt is ideally suited for nursery and preschool uniforms, where a consistent and professional appearance is required. It is also a popular choice for toddler sports clubs, community groups, or as part of a bespoke gift range for children's clothing brands.

Practical Advice
When selecting sizes, please refer to the height-based sizing guide (ranging from 68cm to 104cm) to ensure the best fit. It is worth noting that the popper functionality is specifically designed for the smaller size range to facilitate easier dressing for infants. For optimal layering, this sweatshirt can be worn comfortably over a t-shirt or polo shirt.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and colour vibrancy of this sweatshirt, we recommend a standard machine or hand wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes everyday stains without placing undue stress on the cotton-polyester fibres.
Dark colours should always be washed separately to prevent any potential dye transfer to lighter garments. After washing, we advise laying the product flat to dry. This prevents the garment from stretching out of shape, which can often occur when heavy, wet fleece is hung on a line.
If the garment has been customized, do not iron directly onto the motif. Direct heat can damage the print or embroidery threads; instead, iron on the reverse side to keep the decoration looking sharp and professional.
