Product Overview
The Larkwood Denim dungarees (LW700) are engineered as a robust and dependable garment for junior explorers. Constructed from stone-washed 100% cotton denim, these dungarees provide a professional foundation that balances traditional aesthetics with functional modern features. Designed to withstand the daily activities of infants and toddlers, the garment prioritises both structural integrity and wearer comfort.
Key Features
- YKK popper fastenings: Strategically placed on the straps, side seams, and around the inseam, these high-quality fasteners allow for secure closure and easy access for changes.
- Jean-style stitching: Reinforced stitching on all seams ensures the garment can endure the rigours of active play without compromising the construction.
- Two rear patch pockets: These functional additions provide authentic styling while offering practical storage for small items.
- Tag-free design: The absence of a physical neck label removes a common source of irritation for sensitive skin, making it suitable for extended wear.
- Stone-washed finish: This treatment ensures the denim has a soft handle and a pre-worn feel from the very first use.
Design & Performance
The choice of 100% cotton denim provides a sturdy yet breathable fabric that performs exceptionally well in various environments. The medium-weight denim offers sufficient protection for knees and lower bodies during outdoor activities while remaining supple enough to allow for full range of motion. The stone-washing process not only softens the fabric but also stabilises the colour, ensuring a consistent look over time.
Performance is further enhanced by the inclusion of genuine YKK poppers. These are widely regarded for their reliability, reducing the risk of fastening failure that can occur with inferior components. The construction around the inseam is particularly beneficial for the smaller size range, allowing for efficient nappy changes without the need to fully undress the child.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The stable surface of the 100% cotton denim makes these dungarees an ideal canvas for customisation. For a sophisticated and permanent finish, we recommend embroidery. It is an excellent choice for adding names or small company logos to the chest or rear pockets, providing a textured, high-quality appearance that lasts the lifetime of the garment.
For larger, more graphic designs, our high-quality printing process offers vibrant results that stand out clearly against the denim background. All customisation is managed in-house by our expert team in Telford, drawing on our expertise established in 1976. This ensures your branding is applied with technical precision and care.
Use Cases
These dungarees are an excellent choice for nursery uniforms, forest school groups, or as part of a coordinated corporate look for family-run businesses. Their robust nature also makes them highly suitable for outdoor events where a more durable alternative to standard trousers is required.

Practical Advice
The sizing for the LW700 ranges from 6/12 months up to 5/6 years. As denim does not possess natural elasticity, we suggest checking the measurements carefully to ensure a comfortable fit. These dungarees are designed with a generous cut to allow for layering over t-shirts or sweatshirts, depending on the season.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and appearance of the denim, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C using a cotton cycle. Washing at this temperature ensures cleanliness while preserving the integrity of the cotton fibres and any custom branding.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will cause irreparable damage to the indigo dye and weaken the fabric. We also advise against tumble drying; air drying the garment naturally helps to retain its shape and prevents the fabric from becoming overly stiff.
When ironing, use a medium heat (two-dot) setting and always iron on the reverse of the garment. This is particularly important if the item has been printed or embroidered, as direct heat can damage the customisation. Finally, drying the dungarees away from direct sunlight will help prevent uneven fading of the stone-washed finish.
