Product Overview
The Larkwood LW750 is a sophisticated and durable hybrid garment designed specifically for the youngest members of your team or brand community. Combining the rugged aesthetic of a classic denim jacket with the soft comfort of a sweatshirt hood and sleeves, this jacket offers a versatile solution for outdoor activities. The stone-washed finish provides an immediately soft feel, ensuring that children are comfortable from the first wear without the stiffness often associated with new denim.
Key Features
YKK Popper Fastenings: The front closure and dungaree-style poppers use high-quality YKK hardware, ensuring smooth operation and durability that can withstand the frequent use of active children.
Twin Chest Pockets with Flaps: These traditional jean-style pockets add functional detail and a professional appearance, mirroring adult workwear styles for a cohesive brand look.
Knitted Rib Cuffs: The inclusion of ribbed cuffs on the sweatshirt-style sleeves ensures a secure fit, preventing sleeves from riding up and helping to retain warmth.
Tag-Free Design: By removing the interior neck tag, we eliminate a common source of skin irritation for toddlers, making this garment ideal for sensitive skin.
Traditional Jean Stitching: Authentic contrast stitching across the denim body provides structural integrity and a high-end, retail-quality finish.
Design & Performance
Constructed from 100% stone-washed cotton denim, the main body of this jacket is lightweight yet resilient. The contrast heather grey sweatshirt sleeves and hood are integrated seamlessly, providing a layered look without the bulk of multiple garments. This design choice allows for a greater range of movement in the arms, which is essential for play and development.
The fabric is chosen for its breathability and natural feel. Being a lightweight denim, it serves as an excellent transitional layer that provides protection against a light breeze while remaining breathable enough for indoor wear. The stone-washing process not only softens the fibers but also gives the denim a subtle, lived-in character that disguises minor scuffs and marks well.
Customisation: Embroidery Only
For the Larkwood LW750, we exclusively offer embroidery as the customisation method. This choice is driven by the varied textures of the garment; while print can struggle with the rugged grain of denim or the flexible knit of sweatshirt fabric, embroidery excels. Our in-house team, established in 1976, uses high-tension stitching to ensure your logo is rendered with precision and depth.
Embroidery is particularly well-suited to the denim chest panels, where the dense weave provides a stable foundation for intricate thread work. This method ensures that your branding remains vibrant and intact, even after the frequent washing that children's clothing inevitably requires. It provides a premium, tactile finish that elevates the garment from a simple jacket to a professional piece of branded apparel.
Use Cases
This jacket is an excellent choice for nurseries, forest schools, or junior sports clubs looking to provide a smart yet practical uniform. It is also highly effective as high-end promotional merchandise for businesses in the parenting or outdoor sectors. Because it mimics adult workwear styles, it is perfect for family-run trades businesses where a 'mini-me' branding approach is desired for events or site visits.

Practical Advice
The LW750 is available in a broad size range from 6 months up to 5/6 years. To ensure the best fit, we recommend measuring the child's chest and referring to our sizing guide. Given the hybrid nature of the jacket, it works best as an outer layer over a simple cotton t-shirt. If you intend for the jacket to be worn over thicker jumpers, you may wish to consider sizing up to allow for extra room through the torso.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and the vibrant finish of the stone-washed denim, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C on a cotton cycle. Higher temperatures should be avoided as they can cause the natural cotton fibers to shrink and may affect the tension of the embroidery thread.
Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as these will strip the indigo dye from the denim and damage the polyester embroidery threads. We advise against tumble drying; instead, reshape the jacket while damp and allow it to dry naturally out of direct sunlight. Drying in the sun can lead to uneven fading of the denim over time.
When ironing, use a medium setting (two dots) and always iron on the reverse of the garment. Never apply a hot iron directly to the embroidered logo, as the high heat can melt or distort the threads. If the jacket requires dry cleaning, this is a safe option for maintaining the fabric's appearance.
