Product Overview

The Henbury Women's classic cotton piqué polo shirt is a cornerstone of professional corporate attire. Since its introduction as one of Henbury's foundational garments, it has remained a preferred choice for businesses requiring a traditional and dependable uniform. This polo is specifically tailored for the female form, moving away from the boxy shapes of unisex alternatives to provide a more refined, professional silhouette.

Constructed from high-quality ringspun cotton, this medium-weight garment offers a superior balance of comfort and longevity. It is designed to withstand the daily rigours of the workplace while maintaining its structure and appearance, ensuring your team remains looking sharp from the start of the shift to the finish.

Key Features
  • Three-button pearlised placket: The classic three-button opening with plain pearlised buttons provides an adjustable neckline and a sophisticated finish suitable for corporate environments.
  • Henbury stand-up collar: Engineered for shape retention, the collar is designed to sit correctly without rolling or losing its structure over time.
  • Shaped side seams: These seams provide a tailored feminine cut that enhances the fit and ensures the garment moves with the wearer.
  • Side vents with contrast taping: Integrated vents at the hem allow for greater ease of movement, while internal contrast taping provides reinforced strength at stress points.
  • Ribbed cuffs: The cuffed sleeves provide a secure fit and prevent the fabric from sagging, maintaining a neat appearance throughout the day.

Design & Performance

The HB121 is crafted from 100% ringspun cotton (with a slight polyester blend in the Heather Grey variant), which is known for its smooth surface and enhanced durability compared to standard cotton. The piqué weave provides that familiar textured feel associated with high-quality polo shirts, offering excellent breathability for active roles.

As a substantial, medium-weight garment, it provides enough body to hold its shape while remaining soft against the skin. The inclusion of a contrast locker patch inside the neck adds an extra layer of reinforcement and a touch of subtle detail that speaks to the garment's well-engineered construction.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This polo shirt is an excellent candidate for customisation. The tightly knit piqué fabric provides a stable surface for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is particularly recommended for this style; it offers a traditional, high-quality finish for company logos or staff names that complements the classic corporate look of the Henbury brand.

For those requiring larger, more vibrant graphics—perhaps for promotional events or high-visibility branding—our printing techniques deliver sharp, durable results. All customisation is handled in-house by our expert team in Telford, drawing on decades of experience since our establishment in 1976 to ensure your branding is executed with precision.

Use Cases

The Women's classic cotton piqué polo is highly versatile, making it suitable for front-of-house hospitality roles, corporate office environments, and professional trade services. Its clean lines and traditional collar make it an ideal choice for customer-facing staff who need to balance comfort with an authoritative appearance.

Practical Advice

This garment is designed with a specific women's cut, and we recommend referring to the size guide to ensure the best fit across the range of S to 2XL. Because it is a medium-weight cotton garment, it layers exceptionally well under knitwear or softshell jackets during colder months without adding unnecessary bulk.

Caring for your product

To ensure your polo shirt continues to perform and looks professional for as long as possible, it is essential to follow the recommended care routine. Proper maintenance preserves the fabric's integrity and protects any custom embroidery or print from premature wear.

We recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at higher temperatures can lead to fabric shrinkage and may affect the longevity of your branding. Always wash dark colours separately to prevent dye transfer, and ensure the garment is washed and dried inside out to protect the outer surface and any custom logos.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the cotton fibres and cause significant discolouration. Similarly, this garment should not be tumble dried; instead, re-shape it while damp and allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight to prevent the fabric from becoming brittle or shrinking.

When ironing, use a two-dot setting and always iron on the reverse of the fabric. Applying direct heat to the front of the garment can damage the piqué texture and may melt or distort any printed designs.
