Product Overview
The Henbury HB100 is a cornerstone of corporate apparel, representing the very first polo shirt introduced by the brand. Its enduring popularity is a testament to its classic design and reliable performance. Crafted with a traditional piqué texture, this polo shirt offers a sophisticated aesthetic suitable for a wide range of professional environments. The inclusion of a stand-up collar ensures that the garment maintains its structured appearance throughout the working day, providing a sharp look that bridges the gap between casual and formal workwear.
Key Features
- 3-button placket with plain horn buttons: This feature provides a classic, understated closure that enhances the garment's professional appeal.
- Henbury stand-up collar: Specifically engineered for increased shape retention, preventing the collar from flattening or losing its form after repeated wear.
- Side vents at the hem: These allow for greater ease of movement and ensure the shirt sits comfortably over the hips, whether tucked or untucked.
- Hemmed sleeves and locker patch: These details provide a clean finish and added durability at high-stress points of the garment.
Design & Performance
Constructed primarily from 100% ringspun cotton, the fabric offers a soft touch against the skin while remaining sturdy enough for daily use. The piqué weave provides a breathable, medium-weight feel that is ideal for indoor environments or as a layering piece. For those selecting the Heather Grey option, a small percentage of polyester is blended with the cotton to achieve the classic mottled effect while maintaining the fabric's integrity. As a WRAP-accredited product, you can be assured that this garment is manufactured under ethical and responsible conditions.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This medium-weight polo shirt is an excellent canvas for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is highly recommended for a sophisticated and permanent professional appearance, particularly for company logos or staff names on the chest. The dense piqué knit provides a stable base for high-quality stitching.
For larger, more vibrant promotional designs or event branding, our printing services offer a bold alternative. Our in-house team in Telford, which has been refining its expertise since 1976, handles all customisation to ensure your branding meets our rigorous standards.
Use Cases
The HB100 is a versatile choice for a variety of sectors. It is particularly well-suited for the hospitality industry, where a neat, professional appearance is paramount. It also serves as an excellent foundation for corporate uniforms, front-of-house roles, and general office wear. Its robust construction makes it equally appropriate for lighter trade environments where a step up from a standard t-shirt is required.

Practical Advice
With a size range spanning from XS to 3XL, this polo accommodates a broad workforce. When ordering for a team, we recommend reviewing the specific chest measurements to ensure the best fit. Given its medium-weight fabric, it layers perfectly under a jumper or softshell jacket during cooler months without adding excessive bulk.
Caring for your product
To maintain the structural integrity and professional appearance of your polo shirt, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes daily grime without causing undue stress to the cotton fibres. Avoid using bleach, as this will degrade the fabric and damage the colour.
It is essential to wash the garment and dry it inside out, and to wash dark colours separately. This practice prevents colour transfer and protects the outer surface from abrasion during the wash cycle. Re-shaping the garment while damp and drying it away from direct heat or sunlight will help prevent shrinkage and fading.
Do not tumble dry this garment, as the heat can cause the cotton to contract and distort the fit. When ironing, use a medium setting (two dots) and iron on the reverse side. Crucially, never iron directly over any print or embroidery decoration, as the heat may damage the customisation and the garment itself.
