Product Overview

The Henbury HB590 Wicking Antibacterial Long Sleeve Shirt is a sophisticated technical garment designed for professionals who require a sharp, formal appearance without sacrificing physical comfort. Constructed from advanced Cofrex/Pufy polyester, this shirt does far more than a standard cotton alternative. It is engineered to manage moisture actively and maintain a fresh feel throughout the working day, making it an essential component of a modern corporate or hospitality uniform.

Key Features
  • Permanent Wicking Yarn: The Cofrex/Pufy fabric technology is designed to pull moisture away from the skin to the surface of the material, where it can evaporate quickly, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable during active shifts.
  • Antibacterial Finish: This integrated treatment helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria, which in turn prevents the development of odours, ensuring you remain fresh from the start of the day to the end.
  • UVPF 50 Protection: With a high Ultraviolet Protection Factor, this shirt provides a significant barrier against harmful sun rays, offering peace of mind for staff who spend time working outdoors.
  • Quick-Dry Fabric: The synthetic composition allows the garment to dry significantly faster than traditional fabrics, which is highly beneficial for busy environments and rapid uniform turnaround.
  • Easycare Properties: Designed for the rigours of daily wear, the fabric is resistant to heavy creasing and maintains its professional shape with minimal maintenance.

Design & Performance

The HB590 is crafted from a lightweight fabric that offers a regular fit, ensuring a professional silhouette that does not restrict movement. The attention to detail is evident in the dyed-to-match buttons, which provide a clean, cohesive look across the placket. Performance is at the heart of the design; the fabric is chosen for its excellent colour retention, meaning the professional appearance of your team won't fade after the first few washes. Additionally, the tear-out back neck label is a thoughtful inclusion for those who prefer a completely smooth feel against the skin without the irritation of a traditional tag.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This shirt is exceptionally well-suited for customisation, allowing you to align the garment with your brand identity. For a truly professional and authoritative appearance, we recommend embroidery. This method is perfect for company logos or staff names, providing a textured, high-quality finish that withstands regular laundering.

For organisations looking for larger, high-impact branding, the fabric also takes print remarkably well. Our Telford-based team, established in 1976, handles all customisation in-house, ensuring that whether you choose the precision of embroidery or the boldness of print, your branding is applied with expert care and attention to detail.

Use Cases

This shirt is an ideal choice for the hospitality industry, where staff need to stay cool and odour-free while maintaining a formal aesthetic. It is also perfectly suited for corporate sales teams, outdoor event staff requiring UV protection, or any professional environment where a standard shirt simply doesn't provide enough technical performance.

Practical Advice

The HB590 offers a regular fit and is available in a broad size range from Small to 4XL, catering to diverse team requirements. Because it is a lightweight fabric, it serves as an excellent base layer under a tailored jacket or a corporate sweater, providing moisture management without adding bulk to your outfit.

Caring for your product

To ensure the longevity of the antibacterial finish and the wicking properties, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C on a synthetic cycle. This temperature is effective for cleaning while being gentle enough to preserve the integrity of the polyester fibres.

It is important to avoid the use of bleach, as this will compromise the fabric's structure and lead to significant colour loss. We also advise against tumble drying; the quick-dry nature of the Cofrex fabric means it will air dry rapidly when hung, which also helps to maintain the shirt's shape and reduce the need for ironing.

Crucially, do not use fabric softener, as this can coat the wicking fibres and prevent them from effectively transporting moisture away from the body. When ironing is necessary, use a cool setting on the reverse of the garment and ensure you do not iron directly over any printed or embroidered decoration to avoid damaging your custom branding. Washing and drying the shirt inside out will further protect the outer surface from unnecessary wear.
