Product Overview

The Build Your Brand Checked Flannel Shirt (BY031) is a contemporary interpretation of a timeless workwear staple. Combining the practical utility of a traditional lumberjack-style garment with a modern, long-cut silhouette, this shirt is designed for professionals who require a casual yet uniform appearance. Constructed from 100% cotton flannel, it provides a soft-touch finish that ensures comfort throughout the working day without the excessive bulk often associated with heavier overshirts.

Key Features
  • Dual Breast Pockets: Two integrated front pockets offer convenient storage for small essential items or stationery, keeping them accessible while on the move.
  • Soft Cotton Flannel Finish: The high-quality cotton weave provides a comfortable skin-feel, reducing irritation during extended periods of wear.
  • Tear-Out Tag: The inclusion of a removable label makes this garment exceptionally well-suited for rebranding or for those who find traditional tags uncomfortable.
  • FAMA Certified Production: This shirt is manufactured in a facility with Merchandise Authorisation, ensuring high standards of production and ethical compliance.

Design & Performance

The fabric is a lightweight cotton flannel that balances breathability with the classic aesthetic of a chequered pattern. Because it is made from 100% natural cotton, the material is inherently breathable, helping to regulate body temperature in various environments. The long-cut design allows the shirt to be worn loosely over trousers for a relaxed fit or tucked in for a more structured professional look. The durability of the flannel weave ensures the garment maintains its shape even after repeated wear and laundry cycles.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This shirt has been specifically designed with customisation in mind. For businesses seeking a superior, professional finish, embroidery is highly recommended. The stable weave of the cotton flannel provides an excellent base for dense stitch work, making it perfect for company logos or staff names. If you require large, high-impact graphics for promotional events or creative branding, our printing services offer vibrant results that stand out against the checked pattern.

Our expert team in Telford has been managing garment customisation since 1976. We handle every stage of the process in-house, ensuring that your branding meets our rigorous quality standards before it leaves our facility.

Use Cases

The BY031 is a versatile choice for a variety of sectors. It is particularly effective for tradespeople working in customer-facing roles where a approachable yet professional look is required. It is also an ideal choice for hospitality staff, creative agencies, and retail environments that favour a heritage-inspired uniform. The lightweight nature of the fabric makes it a suitable choice for year-round wear, either as a primary layer or over a t-shirt.

Practical Advice

This shirt features a generous fit, intended to be worn loosely. If you are between sizes or prefer a more tailored appearance, you may wish to consider the smaller option. For those using the shirt as a light outer layer or 'shacket', stick to your standard size to allow for comfortable layering over a base garment.

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity of the cotton flannel and the vibrancy of the chequered pattern, we recommend a mild machine wash at 30°C. Higher temperatures can lead to fabric shrinkage and may degrade the quality of any applied customisation.

Avoid the use of bleach, as this will aggressively break down the cotton fibres and cause irreversible discolouration of the checked design. For the best results, do not tumble dry this garment; instead, allow it to air dry naturally to prevent distortion of the seams.

When ironing, use a low temperature setting. Excessive heat can scorch the flannel finish or damage the adhesive bonds used in certain printing processes. Finally, this garment should not be dry cleaned, as the harsh chemicals involved can strip the natural softness from the cotton material.
