Kariban Sherpa-lined checked shirt jacket

Product Overview

The Kariban KB579 is a sophisticated interpretation of the classic checked shirt, engineered to function as a medium-weight jacket. Crafted from soft cotton flannel and enhanced with a substantial Sherpa lining, this garment provides an effective barrier against the cold while maintaining the professional appearance expected in client-facing environments. The padded sleeves ensure ease of movement, making it a practical choice for those who require warmth without the bulk of a traditional heavy coat.

Key Features

• Sherpa-Lined Body: The high-loft lining retains body heat efficiently, providing significant insulation during colder months.
• Padded Taffeta Sleeves: The sleeves are lined with smooth polyester taffeta, allowing the jacket to glide easily over base layers without catching or restricting arm movement.
• Functional Storage: Two flap chest pockets provide secure storage for essential items, such as mobile devices or pens, keeping them accessible throughout the day.
• Adjustable Buttoned Cuffs: These allow the wearer to secure the sleeves around the wrists or roll them back when performing more manual tasks.
• Relabelling Potential: The absence of a brand label at the neck, featuring only a size tag, makes this an excellent choice for businesses wishing to add their own internal branding.

Design & Performance

Constructed with a 100% cotton flannel outer, the jacket offers a natural, breathable feel that is exceptionally soft to the touch. The interior is divided between a plush polyester Sherpa body for maximum warmth and padded taffeta sleeves for durability and comfort. The rounded hem provides a contemporary silhouette that looks professional whether worn open over a t-shirt or buttoned up as a primary layer. This garment is also backed by BSCI and Oeko-Tex certifications, ensuring it meets high social and environmental standards during production.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Please note that according to our technical specifications, this particular Sherpa-lined shirt jacket is not suitable for standard print or embroidery customisation. The complex multi-layer construction, including the thick Sherpa lining and padded sleeve insulation, makes it difficult to achieve the high-quality finish our Telford-based team has been known for since 1976. This item is therefore best utilized as a high-quality, unbranded addition to your professional wardrobe.

Use Cases

This shirt jacket is ideally suited for professionals working in light construction, warehouse management, or delivery services who require a versatile outer layer. It is equally appropriate for outdoor site visits or as a refined, casual uniform for retail staff operating in draughty environments. Given its warmth and aesthetic appeal, it also serves as an excellent corporate gift for staff during the winter season.

Practical Advice

The Kariban KB579 is designed with a standard fit, ranging from Small to 3XL. As this is a lined shirt jacket, if you intend to wear it over a heavy sweatshirt or multiple layers, you may wish to consider selecting one size larger than your usual shirt size to ensure a comfortable fit across the shoulders and chest.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and appearance of the flannel and Sherpa lining, we recommend a domestic machine wash at 30°C. Washing at higher temperatures can cause the cotton flannel to shrink or the Sherpa lining to lose its insulating loft.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the cotton fibres and cause the checked pattern to fade prematurely. Tumble drying should be avoided at all costs; the heat can damage the polyester taffeta sleeve lining and the internal padding, leading to a loss of shape. Similarly, dry cleaning is not recommended, as the chemicals used can be too harsh for the synthetic lining materials.
