Product Overview

The Brook Taverner Victoria Royal Oxford Shirt is a sophisticated staple for the professional wardrobe, blending classic textile traditions with contemporary tailoring. Specifically designed for women, this short-sleeve blouse features a distinctive Royal Oxford weave, providing a more substantial texture and a higher degree of visual interest than standard plain-weave fabrics. The inclusion of a French placket and contrast detailing ensures a sharp, uncluttered aesthetic that remains comfortable throughout the most demanding office schedules.

Key Features
  • The tailored fit provides a structured, feminine silhouette that looks professional whether worn alone or layered under a jacket.
  • A French placket conceals the button fastenings behind a clean strip of fabric, offering a minimalist and high-end appearance.
  • Contrast detailing adds a subtle touch of modern style, helping your team stand out with a sophisticated edge.
  • Short sleeves provide versatility across different seasons and are particularly well-suited for active indoor roles or warmer working environments.

Design & Performance

Constructed from a blend of 60% cotton and 40% polyester, the Victoria shirt is engineered for both comfort and longevity. The cotton provides a soft, breathable feel against the skin, while the polyester adds essential durability and crease resistance. The Royal Oxford weave is known for its durability and distinctive pebbled texture, which holds its shape well throughout a long shift. This medium-weight fabric offers a superior drape that resists the typical wear and tear associated with daily professional use.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This garment is exceptionally well-suited for customisation, allowing businesses to maintain a professional appearance while promoting their brand. For the textured Royal Oxford fabric, we highly recommend embroidery; our precision stitching handles the weave beautifully, resulting in a durable and premium-looking logo. For those requiring larger or more graphic designs, our high-quality printing processes are also available to ensure your branding is clear and vibrant. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team in Telford, who have been perfecting their craft since 1976.

Use Cases

The Victoria shirt is an ideal choice for front-of-house staff, hospitality management, and corporate office environments. Its polished look makes it suitable for receptionists, sales professionals, and any role where a first impression is paramount. The short-sleeve design also makes it a practical option for retail environments where temperature control can vary.

Based in Telford, we handle our production in-house, ensuring that every garment, including the Brook Taverner range, meets our rigorous standards for quality and finish. When you choose us, you are partnering with a British company that understands the importance of reliable, professional-grade workwear.

Practical Advice

To ensure the best fit, we recommend taking measurements over lightweight undergarments and comparing them with our size guide. The tailored nature of this shirt means it is designed to sit closer to the body; if a staff member prefers a more relaxed fit, it may be worth considering a size up. The short sleeves make it easy to pair with a knitwear layer or a blazer for a cohesive, professional look.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the integrity of the Royal Oxford weave is simple as this garment is machine washable. Regular washing at recommended temperatures helps to remove surface dirt and oils that can break down fibres over time, ensuring the shirt remains a staple of your wardrobe for longer.

To preserve the finish of the French placket and contrast detailing, we recommend hanging the shirt immediately after the wash cycle finishes. This reduces the need for aggressive ironing, which in turn protects the fabric fibres and keeps any custom embroidery or print looking crisp and professional.
