Product Overview

The Bizflame Work Lightweight FR Shirt is a meticulously engineered garment designed for professionals operating in environments where flame resistance and anti-static protection are non-negotiable. Part of our Flame Resistant Multi-Norm range, this shirt balances the rigorous demands of safety standards with the physical comfort required for a full day's work. Its lightweight construction ensures that the wearer does not become over-encumbered, even in high-temperature or physically demanding situations.

Key Features

  • High-Visibility Reflective Tape: Strategic placement of reflective tape ensures you remain visible to colleagues and vehicle operators in low-light conditions, significantly reducing the risk of workplace accidents.
  • Extended Shirt Tail: The design incorporates an elongated tail which ensures the shirt remains securely tucked into your trousers during overhead reaching or bending, maintaining a tidy appearance and consistent protection.
  • Adjustable Button Cuffs: These allow for a precise fit around the wrists, preventing loose fabric from snagging on machinery and allowing for a comfortable interface with safety gloves.
  • Flapped Chest Pockets: Providing secure storage for essential items, the pocket flaps prevent contents from falling out and offer an extra layer of protection against sparks or debris.

Design & Performance

The performance of this shirt is rooted in its material composition: a blend of 99% cotton and 1% carbon fibre. The high cotton content provides a natural, breathable feel against the skin, while the integrated carbon fibre provides the critical anti-static properties required in volatile atmospheres. This lightweight fabric is specifically chosen for its ability to offer flame resistance without the heavy, stifling feel of traditional protective materials.

Durability is built into every seam. The Bizflame Work fabric is designed to withstand the rigours of industrial use, ensuring that the garment maintains its protective qualities and structural integrity even after repeated use in tough environments. The Navy finish provides a professional, understated look that conceals light dust and debris effectively.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

At MyWorkwear, we understand that your uniform is a reflection of your business's standards. This lightweight shirt is suitable for both print and embroidery, allowing you to display your branding clearly. For a superior professional appearance, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names; it is durable and withstands the industrial washing often required for FR garments.

If you require larger, more vibrant designs, our high-quality printing process is an excellent alternative. All customisation is handled in-house by our expert team in Telford, who have been perfecting their craft since 1976. We ensure that the application of your branding does not compromise the garment's flame-resistant performance.

Use Cases

This shirt is an essential piece of equipment for workers in the petrochemical, utility, and flame-risk manufacturing sectors. It is particularly well-suited for site managers and technicians who require a professional shirt-style garment that does not sacrifice safety for style. Its lightweight nature makes it the ideal choice for indoor industrial environments or summer work outdoors.

Practical Advice

For the most effective protection, this shirt should be worn as part of a complete flame-resistant system. Ensure it is fully buttoned and tucked in to maximise the anti-static and flame-resistant coverage. When selecting your size, consider that this is a lightweight garment designed to be worn over a base layer if necessary, though it is comfortable enough to be worn directly against the skin.

Caring for your product

To maintain the specialised protective properties of the Bizflame Work fabric, it is vital to follow the care instructions precisely. Maintaining the integrity of the flame-resistant treatment ensures your continued safety on the job.

A domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C is recommended. Washing at higher temperatures may degrade the cotton fibres and negatively impact the lifespan of the reflective tape. Use a normal washing process and avoid any heavy industrial chemicals.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will destroy the carbon fibres responsible for anti-static protection and will compromise the flame-resistant nature of the cotton blend.

When drying, use a low heat setting in the tumble dryer. Excessive heat during drying can lead to garment shrinkage, which may affect the fit and the positioning of the reflective elements. For the best result, remove the shirt promptly to reduce creasing.

Ironing should be performed at a maximum temperature of 150°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove wrinkles and restore a crisp, professional look without scorching the technical fibres. Do not dry clean this garment, as the solvents used in that process can interfere with the garment's safety performance.
