Product Overview

The Brook Taverner Selene Blouse is a cornerstone of professional office attire, specifically engineered to provide a polished appearance without compromising on daily comfort. As part of our Business Essentials collection, this long-sleeved garment is designed for the modern professional who requires a reliable, smart uniform that maintains its integrity from the first meeting to the end of the shift. The semi-fitted silhouette offers a contemporary look that is both flattering and functional, making it a versatile choice for various corporate environments.

Key Features

  • Semi-fitted tailoring: Provides a structured and elegant shape that contours to the body while ensuring enough room for comfortable movement throughout the workday.

  • Long sleeve with a single-button cuff: A classic design element that offers a professional finish and allows for a neat fit at the wrist.

  • Breathable poly-cotton fabric: The blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton ensures the blouse is both durable and comfortable against the skin.

  • Machine washable: Designed for easy maintenance, allowing the garment to be laundered at home without losing its professional crispness.

Design & Performance

The performance of the Selene Blouse is defined by its lightweight fabric, which offers excellent breathability for indoor environments. The polyester-cotton blend is a strategic choice; the polyester provides essential durability and crease resistance, while the cotton ensures a soft handle and temperature regulation. This combination results in a garment that is easy to care for and requires minimal ironing, which is a practical necessity for busy professionals.

The semi-fitted cut is carefully executed to provide a clean line under a jacket or blazer, yet it remains substantial enough to be worn on its own. Every seam and button has been positioned to ensure a secure fit that resists the standard wear and tear of a fast-paced work environment.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The smooth, lightweight surface of the Selene Blouse makes it an exceptional candidate for customisation. For a truly professional appearance, we recommend embroidery. Our Telford-based team uses precision machinery to apply your company logo or staff names, creating a durable and high-quality finish that enhances your brand identity.

For organisations requiring larger, more vibrant branding, our printing services provide a crisp and clear result. Having been established in 1976, we have decades of experience in ensuring that your branding is applied correctly, maintaining the fabric's integrity while delivering a sharp visual impact.

Use Cases

This blouse is ideal for front-of-house staff in the hospitality sector, corporate receptionists, and retail management. It is equally suited for administrative teams and professional services where a cohesive and smart team appearance is required to instill confidence in clients.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, please consider the semi-fitted nature of this garment; if you prefer a more relaxed fit across the bust or shoulders, you may wish to size up. This blouse is designed to be tucked into trousers or skirts to maintain a sharp, professional silhouette. Because of its lightweight fabric, it layers perfectly under knitwear without creating bulk.

Caring for your product

To maintain the longevity and professional look of your blouse, we recommend a machine wash at 40°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove everyday marks while being gentle enough to preserve the fabric's fibres and the vibrancy of any embroidered or printed logos.

We advise against the use of bleach or harsh chemical detergents, as these can weaken the poly-cotton blend over time and cause the fabric to thin or discolour. For the best results, hang the blouse to air dry immediately after the wash cycle finishes; this will reduce the need for heavy ironing and help prevent permanent creasing.
