Product Overview
The 2786 Traverse padded gilet is a sophisticated solution for professionals requiring core warmth without the restriction of a full jacket. Engineered with a slimline profile, this gilet serves as a versatile outer layer or a high-performance mid-layer. Insulated with premium artificial down, it effectively traps heat to protect the wearer from the elements while maintaining a smart, streamlined appearance suitable for client-facing environments.
Key Features
- Reverse Coil Centre Front Zip: Features a signature zip pull for smooth operation and a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
- Sandwiched Horizontal Baffles: These compartments ensure the synthetic insulation remains evenly distributed, preventing cold spots and maintaining consistent thermal performance.
- Concealed Zip Pockets: Secure storage for essential items, designed to be unobtrusive and reduce the risk of snagging in active work environments.
- Internal Storm Flap with Chin Guard: Provides an essential barrier against wind ingress while preventing the zip from irritating the skin.
- Stretch Binding at Armholes and Hem: Creates a close fit to the body, effectively locking in warmth and offering additional protection against draughts.
Design & Performance
The Traverse gilet is constructed from 100% polyester for the outer shell, lining, and padding, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. The design incorporates vertical baffle features at the side seams, which provide a more structured and ergonomic fit than traditional gilets. Internal binding on all seams further enhances the structural integrity of the garment, ensuring it withstands the rigours of daily professional use.
For businesses looking to rebrand, the inclusion of a cut-away inner label and the absence of a branded neck label make this an ideal choice for creating a bespoke corporate uniform. The synthetic fill provides substantial warmth while remaining a lightweight and manageable garment for all-day wear.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This garment is specifically designed to accommodate both print and embroidery, allowing for high-quality branding. Embroidery is the preferred choice for a professional finish, ideal for company logos or staff names on the chest. The fabric's construction provides a stable base for dense stitching, ensuring a premium look that lasts.
Alternatively, for larger, more impactful designs, our precision printing techniques can be applied to the back of the gilet. Since 1976, our Telford-based team has specialised in customising workwear, ensuring that every logo is applied with technical precision to represent your business accurately.
Use Cases
This gilet is perfectly suited for tradespeople, delivery drivers, and warehouse staff who require freedom of movement in their arms while working in cool conditions. It is also an excellent choice for corporate event staff or site managers who need a smart, identifiable layer to wear over shirts or sweatshirts.

Practical Advice
The Traverse gilet features a tailored fit. When choosing your size, consider the layers you intend to wear underneath; if you plan to wear this over heavy-duty knitwear or thick hoodies, you may find that sizing up provides a more comfortable range of movement. Available in sizes ranging from Small to 3XL, it caters to a wide variety of body types.
Caring for your product
To maintain the loft of the artificial down and the integrity of your custom branding, we recommend a gentle machine wash at 30°C. Washing at higher temperatures may damage the synthetic fibres and cause the padding to lose its insulating properties.
Avoid the use of bleach, as this will degrade the polyester fabric and cause colours to fade. Do not dry clean or tumble dry this garment; instead, allow it to air dry naturally to preserve its shape and ensure the internal baffles remain correctly positioned.
If required, use a low iron setting only. High heat from an iron can damage technical polyester fabrics and potentially compromise any printed customisation.
