Product Overview

The Yoko YK152 Hi-vis rucksack cover is an essential accessory for any professional who needs to maintain high visibility while carrying equipment. Designed to fit most standard 20 to 25-litre rucksacks, this cover transforms a standard dark bag into a functional piece of safety equipment. Beyond the obvious safety benefits, it serves as a robust shield against the elements, ensuring that the contents of your rucksack remain dry and protected during transit.

Key Features

  • 100% Waterproof Fabric: Constructed from polyester with internally taped seams to prevent moisture ingress, keeping your electronics and documents dry.
  • Dual Reflective Tapes: Features two 25mm vertical reflective bands that significantly enhance your profile in low-light conditions or during nocturnal shifts.
  • Integrated Mesh Pocket: Provides additional external storage for frequently accessed items without compromising the main bag's seal.
  • Elasticated Edging: The secure elastic border combined with simple fixing fasteners ensures the cover remains firmly attached, even in windy conditions.

Design & Performance

Engineered from a durable medium-weight polyester, this cover is built to withstand the rigours of daily outdoor use. The inclusion of taped seams is a critical technical detail; it ensures that water cannot penetrate the stitch lines, which is often the point of failure in lesser equipment. The fabric choice provides a balance between being substantial enough to resist tearing while remaining flexible enough to be folded away when not required. The simple fixing fasteners provide a reliable connection to the rucksack, ensuring the cover does not shift during movement.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This rucksack cover is an excellent canvas for corporate branding. For this specific item, we recommend screen printing or transfer printing for large, bold logos that need to be seen from a distance. The flat surface of the polyester is particularly well-suited to these techniques, ensuring a sharp and professional finish. While embroidery is available for a more traditional, textured appearance, printing often provides the best clarity on this type of safety accessory.

Use Cases

This product is indispensable for cycle couriers, site engineers, and commuters who navigate high-traffic environments. It is equally useful for outdoor event staff and logistics personnel who require their gear to stay dry while ensuring they remain visible to vehicles and heavy machinery.

Practical Advice

When fitting the cover, ensure the elasticated edges are tucked well under the base and sides of your rucksack before securing the fasteners. This creates a tensioned fit that prevents the cover from flapping. If your rucksack is at the larger end of the 25-litre scale, ensure the reflective tapes are positioned vertically to maximise their effectiveness.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-visibility performance and the integrity of the waterproof coating, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a normal process. Washing at higher temperatures can degrade the waterproof backing and the adhesive used for the reflective tapes over time.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will chemically attack the polyester fibres and the reflective beads within the tape, leading to a significant reduction in safety performance and fabric strength. To ensure longevity, allow the cover to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources.
