Product Overview
The Uneek UC505 Ladies Classic Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt is a substantial and versatile garment designed to meet the demands of a modern working environment. This heavyweight sweatshirt is tailored specifically for women, offering a professional silhouette without compromising on the comfort required for long shifts. The inclusion of a full-length, self-coloured zip allows for easy temperature regulation and layering, making it a practical choice for those transitioning between indoor and outdoor tasks.
Key Features
- Twin Needle Stitching: Reinforced stitching throughout ensures the garment maintains its structural integrity and resists fraying, even in high-stress areas.
- Reactive Dyed Fabric: The fabric has been treated with reactive dyes to ensure superior colour fastness, meaning your corporate colours remain vibrant after repeated washing.
- Taped Neck: A taped neck seam provides additional comfort and prevents the neckline from stretching out of shape over time.
- Lycra Ribbed Cuffs and Welt: The addition of Lycra to the ribbing ensures the sleeves and waist retain their shape and provide a secure, comfortable fit that doesn't sag.
- Double Fabric Hood: The hood is constructed with two layers of fabric for increased warmth and a more structured, premium appearance.
Design & Performance
This sweatshirt is engineered from a balanced 50% polyester and 50% cotton blend. This composition is chosen for its specific performance benefits: the cotton provides natural breathability and soft handling, while the polyester adds essential durability and crease resistance. The interior of the fabric features a brushed effect, which serves two purposes: it creates a soft, comfortable surface against the skin and traps air to provide effective thermal insulation on colder days.
The garment's performance is further enhanced by the full self-coloured zip and matching lace cord, providing a cohesive and uniform appearance. The front pouch pocket offers a convenient space for warming hands or storing small essential items, making it as functional as it is comfortable.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The stable, heavyweight nature of this fabric makes it an ideal canvas for customisation. For a professional and long-lasting finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and individual names. This method adds a tactile, high-quality dimension to the garment that can withstand industrial wear. Alternatively, for larger, more striking graphics on the back or chest, our high-definition printing process delivers sharp, clear results. Based in Telford, our in-house team has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring your branding is applied with precision and care.
Use Cases
This hooded sweatshirt is perfectly suited for a wide range of sectors, including retail, light industry, and corporate events. It is an excellent choice for staff uniforms where a relaxed yet professional appearance is required. It also serves as a reliable outer layer for site visits or as a warm mid-layer beneath a waterproof jacket during the winter months.

Practical Advice
This sweatshirt features a ladies' specific fit; we recommend checking our size guide to ensure the best fit for your team. Because it is a heavyweight garment, it works exceptionally well when layered over a lightweight t-shirt or polo shirt. If you are between sizes, opting for the larger size can provide a more comfortable fit for active roles.
Caring for your product
To ensure this garment continues to perform and look its best, it should be washed at 60°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove most workplace stains and bacteria while maintaining the bond of the fabric and any applied customisation. Washing at higher temperatures may lead to premature wear of the fibres.
We advise against the use of bleach, as this will damage the reactive dyes and weaken the polyester-cotton blend. When drying, it is best to air dry the garment or use a low-heat setting in a tumble dryer. Excessive heat during drying can cause the Lycra elements in the cuffs and welt to lose their elasticity, leading to a loss of shape over time.
If ironing is required, use a medium heat setting and avoid direct contact with any printed or embroidered areas to prevent damage to the branding.
