Product Overview

The Stormtech Womens Nostromo thermal shell is a sophisticated technical outer layer designed for those who require high-performance protection without the cumbersome weight of traditional heavy jackets. Engineered with Stormtech's proprietary H2XTREME technology, this shell provides a formidable barrier against the elements while maintaining a high level of breathability. This ensure that the wearer remains dry from external rainfall and comfortable by allowing internal moisture vapour to escape during physical exertion. Its lightweight construction makes it an ideal choice for active professionals who need to maintain agility in unpredictable weather conditions.

Key Features
  • H2XTREME Waterproof/Breathable Technology: This advanced membrane system provides superior protection against wet weather while ensuring internal moisture can escape, keeping you dry and comfortable throughout the day.
  • Adjustable Full Coverage Hood: The customisable hood allows for precise fitment, ensuring your field of vision remains clear even when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
  • Mechanical Stretch Fabric: The 100% polyester outer fabric features mechanical stretch, which provides enhanced mobility and comfort without the need for restrictive elastane.
  • Articulated Elbows: Pre-shaped sleeves follow the natural curve of the arm, allowing for a full range of movement during technical tasks or active pursuits.
  • PFC-Free Water-Repellent Finish: A sustainable finish that encourages water to bead off the surface, protecting the integrity of the fabric while being kinder to the environment.

Design & Performance

The performance of the Nostromo thermal shell lies in its technical fabric composition. The outer layer is crafted from a durable polyester with mechanical stretch, offering resilience against daily wear while allowing for effortless movement. Inside, an ultra-lightweight nylon taffeta lining provides a smooth interface when layered over other garments, reducing friction and enhancing overall comfort. The lightweight nature of this garment is its primary advantage; it offers the thermal protection of a shell without the bulk, making it easy to pack or wear for extended periods.

Durability is further enhanced by the quality of construction, meeting SEDEX and WRAP accreditations. This ensures that the garment is not only built to last in a work environment but is also produced under ethical and responsible manufacturing standards.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The Stormtech Nostromo is an excellent canvas for corporate branding. For a professional and enduring appearance, we recommend embroidery. This method is particularly suited for company logos on the chest or sleeve, providing a textured, premium finish that withstands the rigours of outdoor work. For larger, more vibrant branding or promotional designs, print is an effective alternative that maintains the lightweight feel of the jacket.

All customisation is managed by our expert in-house team in Telford. Having been established since 1976, MyWorkwear brings decades of experience to every stitch and print, ensuring your branding is as high-quality as the garment itself.

Use Cases

This thermal shell is ideally suited for female professionals in sectors such as surveying, site management, and outdoor event coordination. Its sleek, technical profile also makes it a popular choice for corporate uniforms where a modern, athletic appearance is required. Whether you are navigating a construction site or representing your business at an outdoor trade show, this jacket provides the necessary protection without compromising on style.

Practical Advice

The Nostromo shell is designed with a technical fit. When selecting your size, consider what you will be wearing beneath it. Because it is a lightweight shell, it performs best when layered over a moisture-wicking base layer or a light fleece in colder conditions. The size range spans from Small (33.5") to XL (44.5"), ensuring a tailored fit for various body types.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance waterproof and breathable properties of the H2XTREME membrane, it is essential to follow the care instructions carefully. We recommend a cool wash at 30°C. Using high temperatures can damage the mechanical stretch of the polyester and degrade the water-repellent finish, which would compromise the jacket's ability to keep you dry.

Avoid the use of harsh detergents or fabric softeners, as these can clog the pores of the breathable membrane and strip away the PFC-free water-repellent coating. Ensuring the garment is properly cared for will prolong its life and maintain its professional appearance and functional performance for years to come.
