Product Overview

The Stormtech Womens Montserrat thermal vest, part of the Pure Earth collection, is an expertly engineered solution for professionals working in unpredictable British weather. Designed to provide essential core warmth in damp and cold environments, this gilet balances technical performance with environmental responsibility by utilizing a blend of regular and recycled polyester. The lightweight quilted body is complemented by strategic stretch panels, ensuring that the wearer remains mobile and comfortable throughout the working day.

Key Features
  • PFC-Free Water-Repellent Finish: The durable outer shell repels moisture without the use of harmful chemicals, keeping you dry during light showers while maintaining a more sustainable production profile.
  • Thermolex High Loft Synthetic Down: This advanced insulation provides the warmth of traditional down while maintaining its loft and thermal properties even when damp.
  • Adjustable Drawcord Hem: Allows the wearer to seal in heat and customise the fit, preventing cold draughts from compromising core temperature.
  • Zipped Hand Pockets with Brushed Tricot: These pockets offer secure storage for tools or personal items and provide a warm refuge for hands between tasks.
  • Internal Mesh Stash Pockets: Provides additional organised storage space for larger items, keeping them close to the body for security and warmth.

Design & Performance

The design philosophy behind the Montserrat vest focuses on thermal efficiency without bulk. By combining broken fibre fill and polyfill within a windproof outer shell, Stormtech has created a garment that traps heat effectively while remaining remarkably light. Performance is further enhanced by contrast single-layer stretch side panels; these panels are critical for tradespeople and professionals who require a full range of arm movement, as they eliminate the restriction often found in traditional heavy jackets.

The addition of a chin saver prevents the zip from causing irritation, a small but vital detail for those wearing the vest over long shifts. The partial elasticised armhole trim ensures a snug fit that moves with the body, further reducing heat loss at the garment's openings.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This garment is specifically designed with decoration access to ensure a superior finish for your corporate branding. Embroidery is highly recommended for the chest area, providing a professional and durable look for company logos and staff names that will withstand the rigours of daily wear. For larger, more striking branding on the back, our high-quality print services offer vibrant results that stand out.

At MyWorkwear, our in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976. We handle every stage of the customisation process to ensure your branding is as resilient as the garment itself.

Use Cases

This thermal vest is an ideal choice for site supervisors, event staff, and outdoor professionals who need to maintain a professional appearance while staying warm. Its sleek profile also makes it a popular choice for delivery drivers and logistics personnel who frequently move between heated cabs and cold loading bays.

Practical Advice

Available in sizes S to XL, this vest is designed with a feminine cut that fits true to size. For those working in particularly harsh conditions, it serves as an excellent mid-layer beneath a heavier waterproof shell. If you are frequently layering over heavy knitwear, you may wish to consider the measurements provided to ensure the stretch side panels can perform optimally.

Caring for your product

To maintain the water-repellent properties and the loft of the synthetic insulation, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. This ensures your investment continues to perform season after season.

We recommend a cold machine wash on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Using high temperatures can damage the synthetic fibres and the recycled content of the shell. It is vital to avoid fabric softeners, as these can coat the technical fibres and diminish the effectiveness of the water-repellent finish.

Bleaching should be avoided at all costs, as it will weaken the fabric structure and cause the colours to fade. When drying, use a low-temperature tumble dry setting to help redistribute the thermal fill. Do not iron the garment, especially over any custom print or embroidery, as the heat can melt the synthetic shell and destroy the branding.
