Product Overview

The Scruffs SH024 Trade Bodywarmer is a technically engineered piece of outerwear designed for the modern tradesperson who requires core warmth without the restriction of a full jacket. This garment balances weight and thermal efficiency by utilising Insatherm padding, which traps body heat effectively while remaining lightweight. The slim-fitting profile ensures a modern appearance, while the inclusion of flexible softshell panels allows for a full range of ergonomic movement during demanding physical tasks.

Key Features
  • Insatherm Thermal Padding: Provides essential warmth for the torso by retaining body heat in colder conditions.
  • Hard-Wearing Nylon Fabric: The primary body material is selected for its high resistance to abrasion, ensuring the garment survives the rigours of a busy site.
  • Flexible Softshell Panels: Integrated into the design to provide stretch where it is needed most, preventing the garment from feeling restrictive.
  • Secure Storage Solutions: Features zipped external pockets and three internal pockets, providing ample space for tools, mobile devices, and personal items.
  • Enhanced Coverage: A high collar shields the neck from wind chill, while the dipped back hem prevents exposure when bending or reaching.

Design & Performance

Constructed with a 100% nylon body and contrast panels made from a polyester-elastane blend, this bodywarmer is built for performance. The choice of nylon for the main body offers a robust barrier against wear and tear, while the 4% elastane in the softshell panels provides the necessary 'give' for active work. The slim-fit design is intentional, reducing bulk so the garment can be worn comfortably over a sweatshirt or under a heavier waterproof shell in more extreme weather conditions. This item is also certified by amfori BSCI, reflecting a commitment to responsible and ethical manufacturing standards.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This bodywarmer is an excellent candidate for both embroidery and print, allowing for a versatile approach to company branding. For a more distinguished and permanent professional appearance, we recommend embroidery for logos and staff names; the dense nylon surface provides a stable foundation for high-quality stitching. For larger, high-impact graphics across the back or chest, our printing techniques offer a sharp, vibrant finish. All customisation is performed by our expert in-house team in Telford, ensuring your branding meets our exacting standards.

Use Cases

This garment is specifically designed for professionals in the construction, plumbing, and electrical trades who transition between indoor and outdoor environments. It is equally suited for logistics and warehouse personnel who need to stay warm in drafty spaces while maintaining full arm mobility for lifting and moving stock.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, please note that this is a slim-fitting garment designed to sit close to the body for maximum thermal efficiency. If you intend to wear heavy knitwear or multiple thick layers underneath, you may wish to consider moving up one size. The available range covers chest sizes from S (35/37") up to 2XL (45/47").

Caring for your product

To maintain the structural integrity and thermal properties of your bodywarmer, we recommend a machine wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes dirt and sweat without damaging the synthetic fibres or the Insatherm padding.

Do not use bleach on this garment, as harsh chemicals will weaken the nylon fabric and cause the colours to fade prematurely. When drying, use a low heat setting in the tumble dryer to prevent the softshell panels from losing their elasticity.

If ironing is required, use a cool setting only. High heat can melt the nylon body and damage the internal padding. Finally, do not dry clean this item, as the solvents used in the process can degrade the technical fabrics and impact the garment's performance.
