Russell Athletic Smart softshell gilet

Product Overview

The Russell Athletic Smart softshell gilet is a refined choice for professionals who require a versatile layer that doesn't compromise on appearance. Designed for those who need to look the part while remaining practical, this garment offers a streamlined silhouette suitable for both the boardroom and the building site. It is an essential piece of equipment for the modern worker who values comfort without wanting to look like they've just rolled out of bed.

Key Features

• 100% Polyester construction provides a durable exterior that resists the elements, ensuring you stay dry and comfortable throughout the working day.
• The sleeveless gilet design allows for total freedom of movement in the arms, making it ideal for tasks that require agility without the bulk of a full jacket.
• A wide size range from XS to 3XL ensures that every member of your team can be outfitted in a garment that fits correctly and looks professional.
• The selection of classic tones, including French Navy and Convoy Grey, provides a sophisticated backdrop for your corporate branding.

Design & Performance

Crafted from a substantial, heavyweight softshell fabric, this gilet offers significant protection against the wind, which is particularly welcome when working on exposed sites. The 100% polyester weave is engineered to be resilient, maintaining its shape and finish even after extensive wear in demanding environments. It feels sturdy and dependable, providing that extra layer of warmth without the risk of overheating during more strenuous activities.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This item is available with both print and embroidery customisation. Embroidery delivers a textured, premium appearance — ideal for logos and names — and stands up to repeated washing without fading. Print is better suited to large, bold designs and a broader colour range. Our in-house team, established in 1976, handles all customisation in our Telford facility to ensure the highest standards are met.

Use Cases

This gilet is particularly well-suited for site managers, surveyors, or warehouse supervisors who frequently move between different temperatures. It serves as an excellent outer layer over a polo shirt during milder months or a mid-layer beneath a heavier coat when the British weather truly turns. It is equally at home in a professional office environment as it is on a construction site.

Practical Advice

To get the most out of your gilet, we recommend wearing it as part of a layering system. It fits comfortably over a standard work shirt or sweatshirt. If you find yourself between sizes or intend to wear particularly thick knitwear underneath, you may wish to opt for the larger size to ensure you maintain full range of movement while working.

Caring for your product

Maintaining the technical performance and the professional finish of this softshell gilet is vital for its longevity. While we always suggest following the specific instructions on the internal label, a general rule is to avoid excessive heat which can damage the synthetic fibres.

Using harsh chemicals or bleach will likely strip the fabric of its finish and cause the colours to fade prematurely, which isn't the look we are going for. Ensure the garment is stored in a dry place to prevent any degradation of the polyester material over time.
