Product Overview

The Russell Europe Full-zip outdoor fleece represents a significant advancement in mid-layer technology. Unlike traditional, bulky fleeces that can feel cumbersome, this garment utilises a compact fleece material. This design provides a smooth surface that offers superior protection against wind and chill without the unnecessary volume. The panelled construction ensures a modern, tailored fit that moves with the wearer, making it as much a style statement as it is a piece of protective workwear.

Key Features

  • The cadet collar provides a professional appearance while offering essential protection for the neck against cold winds and draughts.

  • Equipped with side pockets featuring reversed zips and an inner mesh lining, providing secure storage for tools or personal items while maintaining internal breathability.

  • Integrated cord pulls on all zips ensure that the garment remains easy to operate, even when wearing heavy work gloves in cold conditions.

  • A bungee cord in the hem allows the wearer to adjust the fit to their preference, sealing in warmth and preventing cold air from entering during outdoor tasks.

Design & Performance

Constructed from 100% polyester anti-pill fleece, this garment is designed for longevity and consistent performance. The anti-pill finish is crucial for maintaining a professional appearance, as it prevents the fabric from bobbling after repeated wear and washing. This is a substantial, heavyweight fleece that feels robust and dependable for daily use. The dense, smooth surface of the compact fleece not only enhances its thermal properties but also provides a more refined aesthetic than standard outdoor wear. The panelled construction is not merely for show; it allows for a more ergonomic fit that accommodates the natural movements of a busy working day without restriction.

Customisation: Embroidery Only

Due to the plush, textured nature of the fleece fabric, this garment is offered exclusively for embroidery. While printing methods can struggle to adhere to the soft fibres of a fleece, embroidery creates a permanent, high-definition finish that sits beautifully within the pile. Our in-house embroidery team, established in 1976, uses precision machinery to ensure your company logo is rendered with clarity and durability. A stitched logo on a dense fleece like this conveys a level of quality and professionalism that reflects well on your business and will not fade or peel over time.

Use Cases

This fleece is an ideal choice for professionals who spend a significant portion of their day outdoors or in unheated environments. It is particularly well-suited for site supervisors, logistics staff, and those working in the hospitality sector, specifically for alfresco dining environments. Given its smart appearance and wide size range from XS to 4XL, it is also a popular choice for corporate uniforms and leisure club kits where a unified, professional look is required for the whole team.

Practical Advice

The Russell Europe Full-zip outdoor fleece is designed with a modern fit in mind. If you intend to wear this as a top layer over several other thick garments, you may wish to consider the sizing carefully to ensure full freedom of movement. For those working in particularly harsh conditions, it serves as an excellent insulating mid-layer beneath a waterproof shell jacket. The bungee cord hem should be adjusted when stationary to trap body heat effectively, then loosened during high activity to allow for better air circulation.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and professional appearance of your fleece, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature effectively removes dirt and oils without damaging the synthetic fibres of the polyester or compromising the integrity of the stitch work. Avoiding excessively high temperatures ensures the fabric retains its shape and prevents the anti-pill properties from being damaged over time.

This garment is suitable for tumble drying, which can help to keep the fleece pile soft and lofted, maintaining its thermal efficiency. However, we advise against using high heat settings, as extreme heat can affect the longevity of the embroidered logo and the integrity of the zip mechanisms. Ensuring you follow these simple steps will keep your workwear looking professional and performing well for many months to come.
