Product Overview
The ProRTX High Visibility Polo Shirt (RX710) is a well-engineered solution for professionals who require a balance between high-level safety compliance and breathable comfort. Constructed from a lightweight, moisture-wicking Birdseye polyester, this polo shirt is designed for active roles where temperature regulation is as important as visibility. It is fully certified to EN ISO 20471:2013+A1:2016 Class 2, making it an essential piece of equipment for environments that demand high-visibility standards.
Key Features
- Safety Certified: Meets EN ISO 20471:2013+A1:2016 standards. The orange variant specifically meets RIS-3279-TOM ISSUE 1:2016, making it suitable for UK railway work.
- High-Contrast Design: Features a ribbed contrast colour collar and matching 3-button placket for a smarter, more professional appearance compared to standard safety wear.
- Durable Construction: Twin-needle stitching on the shoulders, sleeves, and bottom hem ensures the garment can withstand the rigours of daily wear without fraying.
- Enhanced Comfort: Side seam vents allow for better airflow and freedom of movement, preventing the shirt from feeling restrictive during physical tasks.
- Flexible Tape Placement: The reflective body tape finishes before the side seam, which prevents the garment from pulling and allows the fabric to flex naturally against the body.
Design & Performance
The primary performance benefit of this polo shirt lies in its 100% Polyester Birdseye fabric. This material is specifically chosen for its lightweight and breathable properties; the 'birdseye' knit creates a subtle pattern of tiny openings that facilitate superior airflow and moisture management. It is an ideal choice for those working in warmer conditions or high-activity environments where a heavy cotton shirt would become uncomfortable.
From a durability perspective, the reinforcement at the shoulders and hems ensures that the polo maintains its shape over time. The contrast buttons—including a spare provided for longevity—add a touch of quality to what is often a purely functional garment. The design acknowledges that safety wear doesn't have to look industrial; it can look tailored and professional.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Despite its technical fabric and reflective tape, the RX710 is an excellent candidate for custom branding. At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team has been perfecting the art of garment customisation since 1976. For this specific polo, we offer both embroidery and print services.
Embroidery is the preferred choice for a superior, long-lasting finish, particularly for company logos or staff names positioned on the chest. The Birdseye fabric provides a stable base for detailed stitching. Alternatively, for larger branding requirements or promotional events, printing offers a bold and clear finish. Both methods are handled in-house to ensure your brand is represented with precision.
Use Cases
Given its Class 2 certification, this polo is perfectly suited for construction sites, logistics and warehouse management, and roadside assistance. The orange version is specifically required for those working on or near UK rail networks. It is the professional choice for supervisors and tradespeople who need to remain visible while maintaining a smart aesthetic.

Practical Advice
The RX710 is available in an inclusive size range from S to 5XL. As this is a lightweight fabric designed for breathability, it works exceptionally well as a standalone garment in summer or as a base layer under a high-visibility jacket during the winter months. When choosing your size, refer to our chest-to-fit measurements to ensure a comfortable fit that allows for the side vents to function effectively.
Caring for your product
Maintaining the integrity of the high-visibility fabric and the reflective tape is crucial for your ongoing safety. We recommend a machine wash at 40°C. Washing at higher temperatures may eventually degrade the reflective properties of the tape and the vibrancy of the fluorescent dyes.
Do not use bleach, as this will destroy the polyester fibres and immediately void the safety certifications. Furthermore, this garment should not be ironed; the heat from an iron can melt the synthetic Birdseye knit and damage the reflective strips.
We advise against tumble drying or dry cleaning. Air drying is the most effective way to preserve the shape and longevity of the garment, ensuring the reflective tape remains securely attached and the fabric maintains its moisture-wicking capabilities.
