Product Overview

The ProRTX High Visibility hoodie is a substantial, medium-weight garment designed for professionals who require both warmth and high-level safety compliance. This hoodie is more than just a layer; it is a meticulously engineered piece of safety equipment that bridges the gap between a standard sweatshirt and a heavier outer jacket. Constructed from 100% polyester with a brushed fleece interior, it provides essential insulation during colder months while maintaining a professional appearance through its contrast ribbing and structured hood design.

As part of our commitment to functional workwear, this hoodie is built to withstand the rigours of a busy site. The inclusion of reflective tape across the shoulders, arms, and body ensures you remain visible from multiple angles, meeting the stringent requirements of modern safety standards without sacrificing the comfort of a standard leisure garment.

Key Features
  • Certified Safety Compliance: Fully certified to EN ISO 20471:2013+A1:2016, providing Class 3 visibility for the Orange/Navy and Yellow/Navy variants to ensure maximum safety in high-risk environments.
  • Rail Industry Standard: The Orange colourway is certified to RIS-3279-TOM ISSUE 1:2016, making it suitable for UK railway infrastructure work.
  • Thermal Comfort: The inner fabric features a brushed fleece finish, which traps heat effectively against the body for superior warmth in exposed conditions.
  • Adjustable Hood: A double fabric hood with integrated drawcords allows for a customised fit and extra protection against the elements.
  • Durable Finishes: Ribbed contrast colour cuffs and hem provide a secure fit that holds its shape even after repeated wear and industrial movement.

Design & Performance

The performance of this hoodie lies in its 100% polyester composition. This material is chosen for its exceptional durability and resistance to stretching or shrinking, which is vital for garments that undergo frequent cleaning. The medium-weight fabric offers a substantial feel without being overly bulky, allowing for ease of movement when performing manual tasks.

The design also incorporates practical contrast elements on the cuffs and hem. These navy sections are strategically placed in areas prone to soiling, helping to maintain a cleaner, more professional appearance for longer. The reflective tape is securely applied over the shoulders and around the body and arms, ensuring it remains intact despite the physical demands of the job.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This high visibility hoodie is an excellent canvas for your company branding. At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team has been perfecting customisation since 1976, ensuring that your logo is applied with technical precision.

Embroidery is highly recommended for this fabric to achieve a professional and long-lasting finish. A well-placed embroidered logo on the chest provides a premium look that withstands the industrial wash cycle. Alternatively, for larger branding requirements, such as across the back between the reflective strips, print provides a bold and clear finish that ensures your company name is visible from a distance. Our experts will ensure that any customisation respects the safety certifications and reflective properties of the garment.

Use Cases

This hoodie is a versatile choice for a wide range of industries. It is ideally suited for construction workers, site managers, and delivery drivers who need to be seen clearly during the day and in low-light conditions. The Orange variant is specifically required for those working on or near the UK rail network. Given its warmth, it is also a popular choice for warehouse staff working in unheated environments where high visibility is a safety requirement.

Practical Advice

The sizing for this hoodie ranges from S to 5XL, catering to a wide variety of body types. When selecting your size, consider what you will be wearing underneath. As a medium-weight layer, it fits well over a standard t-shirt or polo shirt. If you intend to wear multiple heavy layers beneath it for extreme winter conditions, you may wish to consider one size larger to ensure full range of motion.

Caring for your product

To maintain the integrity of the high visibility materials and the performance of the fabric, it is essential to follow the specific care guidelines. We recommend a domestic machine wash at 40°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove site dirt while protecting the polyester fibres and the reflective tape from degradation.

Do not use bleach, as this will compromise the fluorescent properties of the fabric and significantly reduce the garment's safety effectiveness. It is also important that you do not iron this hoodie; high heat can damage the reflective strips and melt the synthetic fibres of the polyester. For the same reason, do not tumble dry or dry clean this garment. Air drying is the safest method to ensure the hoodie retains its shape and visibility standards for as long as possible.
