Product Overview

The Premier Chef's Coolchecker t-shirt serves as a sophisticated yet casual alternative to the traditional heavy chef’s jacket. Designed specifically for the high-pressure environment of a commercial kitchen, this lightweight garment prioritises the comfort and temperature regulation of the wearer during long shifts. By moving away from structured buttons and stiff fabrics, it offers a more relaxed silhouette without sacrificing the professional utility required in the culinary industry.

Key Features
  • Crew neck styling: Provides a clean, contemporary look that is easy to wear under an apron or as a standalone top.
  • Pen pocket on the left sleeve: Ensures essential tools are always within reach, catering to the organisational needs of a busy kitchen.
  • Underarm side vent holes: Strategically placed to increase ventilation in high-heat areas, aiding in temperature management.
  • Mesh back panel: Facilitates constant airflow across the back, preventing the buildup of heat where it is most often trapped.

Design & Performance

Constructed from 100% polyester, the Coolchecker fabric is engineered to draw moisture away from the skin and move it to the surface where it can evaporate quickly. This fast-drying capability is essential in a kitchen environment where heat and steam are constant. The inclusion of a dedicated mesh panel on the reverse and integrated side vents ensures that air circulates freely, keeping the wearer noticeably cooler than in standard cotton alternatives. Despite its lightweight feel, the fabric is resilient enough to withstand the daily rigours of professional catering service.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

This t-shirt is highly versatile when it comes to branding. For businesses seeking a formal, high-end appearance, embroidery is the preferred choice for logos or staff names on the chest or sleeve; the polyester knit provides a stable base for detailed threadwork. Alternatively, print is an excellent solution for larger, bolder branding across the back or chest, especially if you wish to maintain the lightweight feel of the garment. At MyWorkwear, our Telford-based team has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring that your branding is applied with technical precision.

Use Cases

This garment is ideal for chefs, kitchen assistants, and back-of-house hospitality staff who require a uniform that balances functionality with thermal comfort. It is particularly well-suited for high-volume catering environments, summer service, or open kitchens where a modern, professional look is desired.

Why MyWorkwear

MyWorkwear has been a staple of the British workwear industry since 1976. Based in Telford, we combine decades of experience with modern customisation technology. When you choose us, you are benefiting from a heritage of quality and a team that understands the specific demands of the UK workforce.

Practical Advice

This t-shirt is available in a broad size range from XS to 3XL, ensuring a consistent look across your entire team. When ordering, consider that the fit is designed to be comfortable but functional; if your kitchen staff prefer a looser feel for movement, you may wish to review our size guide to ensure the best fit for their specific measurements. This garment layers exceptionally well under bib aprons without adding unnecessary bulk.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance features of the Coolchecker fabric, we recommend a domestic wash at 40°C. Washing at this temperature ensures that oils and kitchen residues are effectively removed while preserving the technical integrity of the polyester fibres and any applied customisation.

By following these washing instructions, you prevent the degradation of the moisture-wicking properties, ensuring the garment continues to perform as intended and your branding remains vibrant over time.
