Product Overview

The WX3 Modaflame Work FR Jacket is a contemporary, expertly engineered garment designed for professionals who require high-level flame-resistant protection without sacrificing mobility. Constructed from inherent Modaflame fabric, this medium-weight jacket provides a permanent barrier against heat and flame that will not diminish after repeated laundering. The integration of stretch panelling in key movement areas ensures that the wearer can perform demanding physical tasks with ease, making it a superior choice for modern industrial environments.

Key Features
  • Inherent Flame Resistance: The protective properties are built into the fibre itself, ensuring the jacket remains safe to wear throughout its entire lifespan.
  • Innovative Stretch Panelling: Strategically placed panels provide excellent flexibility and comfort in high-movement areas, reducing fabric tension during physical activity.
  • Metal-Free Construction: Designed with non-conductive components to ensure safety in environments where electrical or magnetic interference is a concern.
  • Ergonomic Pre-bent Sleeves: These are shaped to follow the natural curve of the arm, allowing for a greater range of motion and reducing wearer fatigue.
  • Extended Back Length: Provides essential coverage and protection when bending or reaching, preventing the jacket from riding up.
  • Multiple Storage Options: Featuring several pockets to provide ample space for tools and personal items, keeping them secure and accessible.

Design & Performance

This jacket is crafted from a sophisticated blend of 60% Modacrylic, 39% Cotton, and 1% Carbon Fibre. This composition ensures the garment is not only flame-resistant but also provides anti-static protection, which is vital in hazardous environments. The inclusion of Modaflame Work Stretch fabric—incorporating 4% Elastane—allows for a significant degree of flexibility that is often missing in traditional protective workwear.

The performance of the FR602 is further enhanced by adjustable cuffs and embroidered FR logos that signify its protective status. Every element, from the fabric weight to the stitch placement, has been considered to provide a durable, professional appearance that stands up to the rigours of daily site work.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

The WX3 Modaflame Jacket is suitable for both print and embroidery, allowing you to maintain a professional corporate identity while adhering to safety standards. Embroidery is particularly well-suited for adding company logos or staff names, providing a sophisticated and permanent finish that withstands industrial use.

For larger, more visible branding, print customisation offers a bold solution. Our in-house team at MyWorkwear has been refining these techniques since 1976 at our Telford facility, ensuring that your customisation is applied with technical precision to maintain the garment's integrity.

Use Cases

This jacket is designed for workers in multi-norm environments, including the petrochemical, utility, and electrical industries. Its metal-free design makes it particularly useful for those working in sensitive electronic environments or near scanners and detectors.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider the layers you intend to wear underneath; the regular fit and longer back are designed to accommodate movement over base layers. The adjustable cuffs should be secured to prevent snagging and to ensure a neat fit over work gloves.

Caring for your product

To maintain the protective performance and longevity of this flame-resistant garment, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so may compromise the anti-static and heat-resistant properties of the fabric.

We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a normal process. This temperature is sufficient to remove industrial dirt while preserving the integrity of the Modaflame fibres. Do not use bleach, as chlorine-based agents will damage the chemical structure of the fibres and void the safety ratings.

Tumble drying should be performed on a low heat setting to prevent excessive shrinkage or heat damage to the stretch panels. If ironing is required, use a maximum sole-plate temperature of 150°C to ensure the fabric remains crisp without affecting the synthetic components. Finally, do not dry clean this garment, as the chemicals used in the process can interfere with the flame-resistant finish.
