Product Overview
The Stormtech Basecamp thermal jacket is an engineered solution for professionals who require significant warmth without the restrictive bulk often associated with winter outerwear. This ultra-lightweight jacket features a sleek profile and is constructed with a high-density outer shell that provides a sophisticated barrier against cold environments. By combining advanced insulation with a streamlined design, Stormtech has created a garment that maintains a professional appearance while delivering dependable thermal protection.
Key Features
Stormtech Thermal Shell Technology: This specialised insulation system is designed to trap and retain body heat, ensuring you remain comfortable even as temperatures drop during outdoor work.
Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) Finish: The outer shell is treated to shed moisture, protecting both the wearer and the internal fill from light rain and damp conditions.
Quilted Mid-Layer with Faux Down Fill: The baffle construction ensures the insulation remains evenly distributed, preventing cold spots and providing consistent warmth across the entire torso.
High-Density Outer Shell: This tightly woven fabric offers enhanced protection against wind and light precipitation while remaining remarkably light to wear.
Design & Performance
Constructed from 100% Nylon with a polyester faux down fill, the Basecamp jacket is built to withstand the rigours of daily professional use. The synthetic fill provides the loft and heat retention properties of natural down but is better suited to work environments as it maintains its insulating capabilities more effectively if exposed to moisture. The ultra-lightweight nature of the materials ensures that movement remains unrestricted, making it an excellent choice for active professionals who transition between vehicles, offices, and outdoor sites.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This jacket is an ideal candidate for professional branding, supporting both print and embroidery. For a traditional and durable finish, embroidery is recommended for company logos or staff names, providing a textured, high-quality appearance that lasts. If your branding requires large, bold graphics, our precision printing techniques offer a crisp and vibrant alternative. All customisation is managed in-house by our expert team in Telford, where we have been perfecting workwear branding since 1976.
Use Cases
The Stormtech Basecamp is perfectly suited for supervisory staff, site managers, and logistics personnel who need to maintain a smart, professional image while staying warm. Its low-profile design also makes it a versatile option for corporate events, promotional use, or as a reliable mid-layer during the colder months.

Practical Advice
The Basecamp jacket is designed with a sleek profile, which makes it ideal for layering over a standard polo shirt or sweatshirt. If you prefer a roomier fit or intend to wear multiple heavy layers beneath it, you may wish to consult the sizing guide carefully. The range covers sizes from Small (35/38") through to 2XL (50/53").
Caring for your product
To preserve the integrity of the water-repellent finish and the loft of the thermal fill, we recommend a cold machine wash on a gentle cycle with similar colours. Using cold water prevents damage to the high-density nylon fibres and ensures the garment retains its shape over time.
Do not use bleach, as these harsh chemicals will degrade the DWR coating and damage the synthetic insulation. To dry, the jacket should be hung rather than tumble dried; this allows the faux down to settle naturally and avoids exposing the outer shell to excessive heat which could cause shrinkage or melting.
It is essential that you do not iron the decoration. High heat can permanently damage both the custom branding and the nylon fabric itself. Finally, this garment is not suitable for dry cleaning, as the process can strip away the essential thermal and water-resistant treatments.
