Product Overview

The Women's Short Sleeve Tunic is a precision-engineered garment designed for professionals within the food, hospitality, and service industries. It offers a refined silhouette without compromising on the practical requirements of a busy work environment. By integrating a concealed zip and stud front fastening, the tunic maintains a streamlined, professional appearance that is well-suited for front-of-house roles while remaining functional for back-of-house tasks.

Key Features

  • Concealed Zip with Stud Fastening: This feature provides a secure and clean closure, reducing the risk of catching on equipment while ensuring a polished aesthetic.
  • Stretch Side Panels: The inclusion of Kingsmill Polycotton Stretch panels allows for a significantly improved range of motion, essential for tasks requiring constant movement.
  • Action Back Pleat: This design element provides extra room across the shoulders, ensuring the wearer does not feel restricted during long shifts.
  • Side Vents: These allow for increased airflow and a better fit over the hips, helping to regulate body temperature in warm environments like kitchens or salons.

Design & Performance

Constructed from Kingsmill Polycotton, this tunic utilises a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend. This specific ratio is chosen for its superior performance, combining the breathability and comfort of cotton with the hard-wearing, crease-resistant properties of polyester. The fabric is lightweight, making it ideal for indoor environments where temperature control is a priority.

Furthermore, the contrast areas feature a Ripstop Weft Stretch. This technical fabric choice adds a layer of durability to high-stress areas, ensuring the tunic can withstand the rigours of daily wear and industrial laundering without losing its shape or structural integrity.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

For businesses looking to reinforce their brand identity, this tunic is an excellent canvas for customisation. We recommend embroidery for a sophisticated, traditional professional look; it is particularly effective for company logos or staff names on the chest. The dense weave of the Kingsmill fabric provides a stable base for high-quality stitching.

Alternatively, for larger or more complex branding, our high-definition print services are ideal. Whether you choose print or embroidery, all work is carried out by our expert in-house team in Telford. MyWorkwear has been refining this process since 1976, ensuring your branding is as durable as the garment itself.

Use Cases

This tunic is highly versatile and serves as essential equipment for various professions. It is particularly effective for catering staff, chefs, and kitchen assistants, as well as professionals in the beauty and healthcare sectors who require a uniform that is both hygienic and easy to move in.

Why MyWorkwear

With a heritage stretching back to 1976, MyWorkwear has spent decades understanding the technical needs of British industry. Based in Telford, our expertise lies in providing garments that don't just look the part but perform under pressure. We combine traditional craft with modern customisation techniques to deliver workwear that supports your business's professional image.

Practical Advice

This tunic is designed with a regular fit, but the inclusion of stretch side panels means it is more forgiving than traditional, rigid tunics. We recommend selecting your standard size for a professional look that still allows for light layering underneath, such as a thin base layer for cooler environments.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and professional appearance of this tunic, following the care instructions is vital for ensuring longevity and colour retention.

We recommend a maximum wash temperature of 60°C using a normal process. This temperature is necessary to ensure proper hygiene in food and beauty environments by effectively removing bacteria and oils. Avoid using bleach, as this will degrade the polyester fibres and cause the black fabric to fade prematurely.

Tumble drying should be restricted to a low setting. Excessive heat in the dryer can damage the stretch components within the side panels, leading to a loss of elasticity. If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C to remove creases without scorching the polycotton blend. Do not dry clean, as the chemicals involved can interfere with the fabric's finish and the integrity of your custom branding.
