Product Overview
The S794 Waist Apron is a staple selection for professionals within the catering and hospitality industries. Designed for those who require protection without the coverage of a full-bib garment, this apron focuses on utility and resilience. It is a well-engineered piece of equipment that balances a professional aesthetic with the practical demands of a fast-paced food service environment.
Key Features
- Anti-tangle side ties: These are specifically designed to remain flat and secure, preventing the frustration of knots and ensuring the garment stays in place throughout a long shift.
- Handy front pocket: Positioned for ease of access, this pocket provides essential storage for order pads, pens, or small utensils, keeping your hands free for the task at hand.
- Kingsmill Polycotton Fabric: This material is renowned for its durability, ensuring the apron can withstand the rigours of daily commercial use.
Design & Performance
The garment is constructed from Kingsmill Polycotton, a high-performance blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. This specific composition offers the breathability of natural cotton paired with the hardwearing characteristics of polyester. The fabric is lightweight, making it comfortable for staff who are constantly on the move, yet it does not sacrifice strength.
Furthermore, the material is fully pre-shrunk, which provides peace of mind that the fit will remain consistent after laundering. Its superior dye retention properties ensure that the deep black colour remains sharp and professional, resisting the fading often associated with frequent high-temperature washing.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
This waist apron serves as an excellent canvas for both print and embroidery, allowing you to align your team’s appearance with your brand identity. Embroidery is highly recommended for a traditional, professional look, particularly for company logos or staff names on the front pocket or upper panel. It provides a tactile, premium finish that stands up well to repeated washing.
For businesses looking for larger, bold branding, our high-quality printing options offer exceptional clarity and impact. Our in-house team, based in our Telford facility, has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring that every garment leaving our doors meets our exacting standards.
Use Cases
This apron is an essential item for a wide range of professions, including bakers, butchers, and bar staff. It is equally at home in a high-end restaurant as it is in a busy cafe or a professional food processing unit. Its discreet profile makes it particularly popular for front-of-house staff who need to carry tools while maintaining a smart appearance.

Practical Advice
When considering customisation, we recommend placing logos above the pocket area to ensure maximum visibility when the wearer is seated or moving. Because this is a lightweight garment, it layers comfortably over trousers or skirts without adding unnecessary bulk or heat to the wearer.
Caring for your product
To maintain the garment's performance and ensure your branding remains in top condition, we recommend a machine wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. This temperature is sufficient to remove grease and food stains without damaging the polycotton fibres.
You should avoid the use of bleach. Bleach will compromise the dye retention of the Kingsmill fabric, causing the black finish to fade and potentially damaging any custom embroidery or print designs.
When ironing the apron, use a maximum temperature of 150°C. This ensures the garment looks crisp and professional while preventing any heat damage to the polyester elements of the fabric. For heavy-duty cleaning, this apron is also suitable for professional dry cleaning using tetrachloroethene in a normal process.
