Product Overview

The Sealtex Flame Hi-Vis FR Trousers are a specialised solution for professionals working in high-risk environments where flame resistance and visibility are non-negotiable. Engineered to withstand the rigours of the British climate, these trousers provide a robust barrier against wind and rain while ensuring the wearer remains conspicuous in low-light conditions. They represent a significant investment in personal safety, combining chemical resistance with heat-sealed technology to offer comprehensive protection without sacrificing mobility.

Key Features

  • Waterproof and windproof construction ensures you remain dry and comfortable, preventing the elements from disrupting your focus on the job.
  • Adjustable hems provide a customisable fit, allowing the wearer to secure the trousers over various types of safety footwear for easy donning and removal.
  • Heat-sealed reflective tape increases visibility in hazardous areas while maintaining the garment's waterproof integrity by eliminating needle holes.
  • Flame-resistant and chemical-resistant properties offer essential protection in industrial settings where exposure to heat and hazardous substances is a risk.

Design & Performance

These trousers are crafted from Sealtex Flame HV fabric, a medium-weight material that expertly balances durability with flexibility. The 100% polyester base is coated with a high-performance PU layer, making the garment entirely waterproof and windproof. Unlike many heavy-duty protective fabrics, the Sealtex material is notably stretchy, which is vital for workers who need to bend, kneel, or climb throughout their shift. The heat-sealed EN ISO 20471 reflective tape is a particular mark of quality; by fusing the tape to the fabric rather than stitching it, the design prevents water ingress, ensuring the trousers remain reliable even in heavy downpours.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Ensuring your team looks professional is straightforward with these trousers, as they are well-suited for both print and embroidery. Embroidery is recommended for a professional appearance, such as company logos or individual names, providing a durable finish that withstands regular laundering. For larger, high-impact branding, our printing service offers a bold, crisp finish that complements the high-visibility orange fabric. All customisation is managed in-house at our Telford facility by a team with expertise dating back to 1976, ensuring your branding is applied with precision and care.

Use Cases

These trousers are designed for high-stakes industries, including petrochemical plants, utility maintenance, and roadside recovery. They are an ideal choice for any outdoor trade where the combination of flame hazards and poor weather requires a high-performance over-trouser. Whether you are working on a rail site or a construction project, these trousers ensure you meet safety standards while remaining protected from the weather.

Why MyWorkwear

With a heritage established in 1976, MyWorkwear has spent decades refining the art of technical clothing customisation. Based in Telford, we pride ourselves on delivering expert advice and high-quality finishes. We understand that your workwear is more than just a uniform; it is a critical component of your daily safety and professional identity.

Practical Advice

As these are designed as over-trousers, we suggest ensuring your primary work trousers underneath are of a standard fit to prevent unnecessary bulk. When choosing your size, consider the additional room needed for layering during winter months to ensure you maintain a full range of movement.

Caring for your product

To preserve the protective qualities and high-visibility of this garment, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. High heat can damage the PU coating, which would eventually lead to a loss of waterproof performance and compromise the flame-resistant properties.

Do not use bleach when cleaning these trousers. Bleaching agents are too aggressive for the specialised Sealtex fabric and will cause the high-visibility orange colour to fade, reducing your safety on-site and potentially weakening the chemical-resistant finish.

Avoid tumble drying and do not iron this product. The intense heat from these appliances can melt the PU coating and damage the heat-sealed reflective tape, causing it to peel or lose its luminosity. We recommend drip line drying, which allows the trousers to dry naturally without structural damage.

Dry cleaning should be avoided entirely. The harsh solvents used in dry cleaning can strip away the essential PU coating, leaving the fabric brittle and no longer fit for purpose in hazardous environments.
