Product Overview
The PW99 Replacement Shield Plus Visor is a fundamental safety component designed to restore the clarity and protection of your face shield assembly. When your existing visor becomes pitted, scratched, or compromised by debris, this clear replacement ensures you maintain an unobstructed field of vision without the expense of replacing the entire browguard or helmet system. It is a practical, cost-effective solution for maintaining high safety standards in the workplace.
Key Features
Superior Polycarbonate Construction: This high-impact material provides robust protection against flying particles and splashes, ensuring the wearer remains shielded in volatile working environments.
Aluminium Reinforcement: The inclusion of aluminium within the design offers structural integrity, helping the visor maintain its shape and secure fit during rigorous use.
Broad Compatibility: Specifically engineered to fit seamlessly with the PW96, PW58, and PS58 models, providing a versatile solution for businesses using various head protection systems.
Design & Performance
Designed with optical clarity as a priority, the polycarbonate used in this visor provides a transparent barrier that does not distort your view. The lightweight nature of the material ensures that adding the visor to your headgear does not result in unnecessary neck strain during long shifts. The aluminium edging is not merely decorative; it provides the necessary tension and durability required for frequent adjustments and survival in harsh industrial conditions where gear is often handled roughly.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation, such as printing or engraving, on this product. As a critical piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), any modification to the surface of the visor could compromise its structural integrity or impair the optical clarity required for safe operation. Maintaining the manufacturer's original specification is essential for compliance with health and safety standards and ensures the equipment performs exactly as intended during an impact.
Use Cases
This replacement visor is ideal for tradespeople and industrial workers engaged in tasks such as grinding, metalwork, or handling non-hazardous chemical splashes. It is an essential stock item for any workshop, laboratory, or construction site currently utilising Portwest PW96, PW58, or PS58 headgear assemblies.

Practical Advice
Before ordering, please verify that your current headgear is one of the compatible models: PW96, PW58, or PS58. When installing, ensure the visor is clicked firmly into all attachment points to avoid it becoming detached during movement. If you find yourself straining to see through your current visor due to fine scratches, it is time for a replacement; visibility is a primary component of safety.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and longevity of your visor, it should be cleaned regularly. Allowing dust, grit, or chemical residues to sit on the surface can lead to permanent scratching and degradation of the polycarbonate material.
We recommend using mild soapy water and a soft, non-abrasive microfibre cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive pads, as these will cause the visor to cloud or become brittle, which significantly reduces the impact resistance and optical quality of the shield.
Always store the visor in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight when not in use. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat or UV rays can degrade the material properties over time, potentially leading to failure when protection is most required.
