Product Overview
The PW3 Hi-Vis Harness Trouser is a sophisticated piece of technical workwear designed specifically for professionals who operate at heights or in environments requiring fall arrest equipment. As part of the modern PW3 range, these trousers bridge the gap between high-visibility safety and ergonomic performance. The design acknowledges the practical challenges faced by tradespeople wearing harnesses, ensuring that functionality is never sacrificed for safety.
Key Features
Harness-Compatible Pocket Layout: The unique positioning of the pockets ensures that tools and essentials remain accessible even when a safety harness is fully fitted, preventing the frustration of restricted access during critical tasks.
Ballistic Fabric Reinforcement: The knee pad pockets are constructed from robust ballistic fabric, which provides exceptional resistance to tearing and abrasion, significantly extending the life of the garment in demanding conditions.
Bottom-Loading Knee Pad Pockets: This design allows for easy insertion and removal of knee protection while ensuring they remain securely in place during active movement.
Ankle Strap System: A specialized adjustment system at the ankles prevents the fabric from snagging or tripping the wearer, which is particularly vital when ascending or descending ladders.
Design & Performance
The performance of these trousers is rooted in the Titanmill Plus Stretch Eco fabric. This medium-weight blend of recycled polyester, cotton, and elastane offers a sustainable solution without compromising on the durability required for site work. The inclusion of elastane provides a necessary degree of flexibility, allowing the fabric to move with the body rather than resisting it.
For areas subject to the highest levels of wear, the contrast panels utilize 500D Ballistic Oxford nylon. This heavyweight material is engineered to withstand the rigours of kneeling and climbing, ensuring the trousers maintain their structural integrity over time. The orange and black colourway ensures maximum visibility while hiding dirt in high-contact areas.
Why No Customisation?
This specific garment is sold without customisation options to ensure the integrity of its technical safety features. These trousers are engineered to meet strict high-visibility and safety standards; adding secondary embroidery or heat-applied logos could potentially compromise the fabric's performance or obscure the reflective elements. We provide these as-is to ensure you remain fully compliant with safety regulations on-site.
Use Cases
These trousers are primarily intended for workers in the construction, utility, and telecommunications sectors, specifically those who frequently use fall arrest systems or work on ladders. The high-visibility properties make them suitable for any environment where being seen is a safety requirement, while the rugged construction suits heavy-duty manual labour.
Why MyWorkwear
Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been at the forefront of the industry, operating from our base in Telford. We understand that workwear is a tool, not just a uniform. Our long-standing heritage in the UK market allows us to select only the most reliable technical garments, ensuring that your team is equipped with gear that actually works as hard as they do.
Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider that these are a regular fit designed to accommodate movement. If you frequently wear thermal base layers during the winter months, ensure you have sufficient room for layering without restricting the stretch properties of the Titanmill fabric. We recommend pairing these with compatible knee pads to take full advantage of the ballistic-reinforced pockets.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility properties and technical performance of these trousers, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum of 40°C using a very mild process. Overheating the fabric can damage the elastane fibres and reduce the effectiveness of the reflective tape.
Do not use bleach, as this will irreparably damage the high-visibility dyes and the structural integrity of the polyester-cotton blend. Similarly, these trousers should not be tumble dried; line drying is essential to prevent shrinkage and maintain the shape of the garment.
Do not iron or dry clean this product. High heat from an iron can melt the synthetic components and the reflective strips. Please note that this garment has a maximum limit of 25 washes to guarantee that the high-visibility standards are consistently met. Beyond this point, the safety performance of the fluorescent dye may begin to diminish.
