Product Overview

The P941 P3 Particle Filter is a high-specification respiratory component designed for environments where uncompromising protection against airborne hazards is a requirement. Supplied in a convenient pack of six, these filters are engineered to safeguard the wearer against dusts, toxic particles, and various microorganisms. As a P3 R type filter, they offer the highest level of particle filtration efficiency within the EN 143 standard, ensuring that even the most minute hazardous substances are captured before they can be inhaled.

Key Features

  • High-Efficiency P3 R Filtration: Provides rigorous protection against toxic substances and microorganisms, essential for high-risk environments.
  • Secure Bayonet Connection: The specialised Portwest bayonet system provides a mechanical lock that ensures a safer, airtight connection between the mask and the filter.
  • Twin Filter Configuration: Designed to be used in pairs to offer improved weight distribution and balance, reducing neck strain during extended periods of use.
  • Wide Compatibility: Specifically designed to fit the P500 Full Face masks as well as the P420, P430, P421, and P431 Half Masks, offering versatility across your existing respiratory fleet.

Design & Performance

The technical architecture of the P941 focuses on two primary goals: filtration performance and wearer comfort. The P3 R classification indicates that these filters are not only highly efficient but are also 'reusable' for more than one work shift, provided they remain undamaged and are not clogged. This is a significant advantage for operations requiring consistent, daily respiratory protection.

By utilising a twin-filter system, the design allows for a lower profile on the face, which improves the field of vision and makes the mask feel more balanced. This lightweight construction ensures that the respiratory system does not become a burden to the user, even during physically demanding tasks. The bayonet connection itself is a testament to the focus on safety, providing a tactile click that confirms the filter is correctly and securely seated.

Why No Customisation?

This product is a piece of certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) designed for life-critical respiratory protection. We do not offer customisation on these filters because any modification—whether through printing, labelling, or engraving—could compromise the integrity of the plastic housing or the delicate filtration media inside. Maintaining the manufacturer's original specification is vital to ensure the product performs exactly as intended in hazardous conditions.

Use Cases

The P941 is suitable for a variety of industrial applications, particularly those involving the handling of toxic chemicals, asbestos removal, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or biological laboratory work where microorganisms may be present. It is an essential choice for any operative currently utilising Portwest P500, P420, or P430 series masks who requires protection beyond standard nuisance dust filtration.

Practical Advice

When fitting these filters, always perform a seal check as per your mask's instructions to ensure no air is bypassing the filtration system. While these are lightweight, remember that they must always be used in pairs to maintain the correct balance and airflow resistance. If you notice an increase in breathing resistance, it is a clear indicator that the filters have reached their capacity and should be replaced immediately.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance of your respiratory filters, they must be stored correctly when not in use. We recommend keeping them in a sealed container or bag in a cool, dry place, away from contaminated atmospheres. This prevents the filtration media from absorbing particles or moisture from the environment while the mask is in storage, which would otherwise prematurely shorten the filter's lifespan.

Never attempt to wash or clean the internal filtration material with water or compressed air. Such actions will destroy the electrostatic properties of the P3 media, rendering the filter useless and dangerously compromising your safety. The external plastic casing may be wiped with a damp cloth if necessary, but ensure no liquid enters the filter intake or the bayonet port.
