Product Overview

The Occupational Textile Trainer O1 ESD SR represents a sophisticated fusion of athletic design and workplace safety. Developed for professionals who spend long hours on their feet, this footwear offers the aesthetic and weight of a modern trainer without compromising on the technical requirements of an occupational shoe. Featuring a knitted upper and an exceptionally comfortable footbed, it provides a supportive environment for the foot while maintaining a professional appearance in demanding service and production roles.

Key Features

  • ESD Protection: Minimises the risk of electrostatic discharge, making it suitable for environments sensitive to static electricity.
  • Knitted Textile Upper: The flyknit polyester construction allows for superior breathability and a flexible fit that moves with the foot.
  • Enhanced Comfort Footbed: Reduces fatigue during prolonged shifts by providing vital cushioning underfoot.
  • Slip Resistant Outsole: The combination of EVA and rubber ensures a secure grip on various surfaces, providing stability in busy workspaces.
  • Lightweight Construction: Prevents the heavy, cumbersome feeling often associated with traditional work shoes, allowing for greater agility.

Design & Performance

Constructed with a Flyknit Polyester upper, this trainer is designed to be highly breathable, facilitating air circulation to keep the foot cool throughout the working day. The material is chosen for its durability and its ability to conform to the wearer's foot shape, providing a custom-like fit straight from the box. Performance is further enhanced by the dual-density EVA and rubber outsole; the EVA layer provides essential shock absorption to protect joints from impact, while the rubber outer layer delivers the traction required for an SR-rated slip resistance.

Why No Customisation?

As this is a piece of safety footwear certified to O1 standards, we do not offer customisation services such as embroidery or heat transfers. Altering the upper material could potentially compromise the electrostatic discharge (ESD) properties or the structural integrity of the shoe, ensuring your protection remains the primary focus.

Use Cases

This trainer is particularly well-suited for professionals in the catering and hospitality sectors, including chefs, bakers, and butchers, where clean lines and slip resistance are paramount. It is also an excellent choice for front-of-house staff in hotels and bars who require a smart, understated shoe that can withstand a full day of activity on hard flooring.

Practical Advice

When selecting your size, consider that the knitted upper provides a snug, sock-like fit. If you prefer to wear thicker work socks, you may find that the flexibility of the fabric accommodates this well, though sticking to your standard size is generally recommended. Always ensure the laces are properly secured to allow the ESD features to function correctly through constant contact between the foot and the footbed.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and longevity of your trainers, it is essential to keep the textile upper free from debris. We recommend regularly brushing away surface dirt with a soft brush to prevent particles from becoming embedded in the knit, which can lead to premature wear of the polyester fibres and reduce breathability.

If the shoes become damp, allow them to dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators. Excessive heat can cause the EVA in the midsole to warp or the adhesives to fail, which would compromise both the comfort and the slip-resistant properties of the outsole.

For the ESD protection to remain effective, the soles must be kept clean. Accumulation of dirt or contaminants on the outsole can act as an insulator, preventing the effective discharge of static electricity. Periodically wipe the soles with a damp cloth to ensure the safety features continue to perform as intended.
