Product Overview

The KP50 Non-Marking Knee Pad is a precision-engineered piece of personal protective equipment designed for professionals who require significant knee protection without the risk of damaging delicate surfaces. Constructed with a focus on stability and surface integrity, these pads utilize moulded non-marking materials that ensure high-quality flooring—such as polished wood, vinyl, or light-coloured tiles—remains pristine during installation or maintenance. Despite their robust protective capabilities, the pads are surprisingly lightweight, ensuring that the wearer does not suffer from fatigue during long shifts spent on the ground.

Key Features

  • Non-Marking Moulded Construction: The outer shell is designed to prevent scratches, scuffs, and streaks on sensitive work surfaces, protecting the client's property as much as your knees.
  • Ergonomic Design: Contoured to fit the natural shape of the knee, providing all-round protection and ensuring the pad stays centered during movement.
  • Adjustable Straps: These provide a secure and flexible fit for all users, allowing for quick adjustments over various types of work trousers without restricted circulation.
  • Enhanced Grip: The material properties offer superb traction, preventing the wearer from sliding unexpectedly on smooth surfaces.
  • Certified Protection: Fully compliant with EN 14404: 2004 + A1: 2010 Type 1 Level 0, providing verified protection against impact.

Design & Performance

The technical performance of the KP50 is rooted in its intelligent material composition. The outer shell utilizes Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR), which provides the necessary durability to withstand abrasion while maintaining the 'non-marking' properties essential for indoor finishing work. Internally, the padding is composed of Expanded Polyethylene (EPE) Foam, a lightweight yet dense material that absorbs impact and provides a cushioned barrier between the knee and hard flooring. This combination ensures that the knee pad remains a lightweight accessory that doesn't compromise on stability. The polyester elements ensure the straps remain durable and resistant to fraying over time.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation, such as printing or embroidery, on this specific product. As a piece of safety equipment, the structural integrity of the TPR shell and the EPE foam is paramount. Any mechanical perforation for embroidery or chemical application for heat-sealed prints could potentially degrade the materials or interfere with the ergonomic performance of the pad. To ensure you receive the full protection guaranteed by the EN 14404 standard, these are sold as-is.

Use Cases

These knee pads are the primary choice for flooring contractors, tilers, and kitchen fitters who work on high-value residential or commercial surfaces. They are equally suited for maintenance engineers and those working in the agricultural sector where knee protection is required on diverse terrains. The white colourway is particularly popular for decorators and finishers who must maintain a clean professional appearance.

Practical Advice

When fitting the KP50, ensure the straps are tightened sufficiently to prevent the pad from rotating, but not so tight as to cause discomfort behind the knee. These are best worn over a durable pair of work trousers to provide a secondary layer of protection against debris. Because they are a lightweight accessory, you may find they require a brief period of adjustment to find the optimal strap tension for your specific leg shape.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and longevity of your knee pads, regular maintenance is required. Keeping the outer shell clean is vital for ensuring the non-marking properties remain effective; any grit or debris trapped in the TPR shell could inadvertently scratch a surface.

We recommend wiping the pads down with a damp cloth and mild detergent after use. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or solvents, as these can break down the Thermoplastic Rubber and the internal foam, leading to a loss of protective cushioning. Allow the pads to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources, as excessive heat can cause the moulded materials to warp or become brittle.
