Product Overview

The Modaflame Rain+ Hi-Vis Multi-Norm Contrast FR Jacket is a sophisticated piece of protective equipment, engineered for professionals operating in the most demanding industrial environments. This jacket is not merely a waterproof layer; it is a multi-functional safety barrier designed to provide comprehensive protection against heat, flame, chemicals, and electrical arcs, all while ensuring the wearer remains visible and dry in inclement weather.

Key Features

  • Multi-norm protection: Offers a combined defence against flame, chemicals, and static electricity, ensuring safety across diverse hazardous tasks.
  • ARC rated: Specifically tested to protect against the thermal effects of an electric arc flash, a critical requirement for utility and electrical workers.
  • Waterproof and breathable: The PU-coated outer fabric prevents water ingress while maintaining comfort during active shifts.
  • High-visibility orange and navy: The contrasting design ensures maximum visibility in low-light conditions, meeting stringent safety standards for site work.
  • Ergonomic design: Tailored to provide a superior fit that allows for natural movement, reducing worker fatigue during long hours.

Design & Performance

The garment is constructed from a substantial, bonded fabric featuring a blend of polyester, modacrylic, cotton, and carbon fibre. This complex material composition ensures that the jacket is both sturdy and lightweight enough for extended wear. The inclusion of carbon fibre provides permanent anti-static properties, which is essential for environments where static discharge could lead to catastrophic events.

Inside, a flame-resistant cotton lining adds a layer of comfort and breathability, ensuring that the jacket does not feel restrictive or overly synthetic against the skin. The ergonomic cut is a modern update to traditional safety wear, providing a professional appearance without sacrificing the necessary room for layering.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

At MyWorkwear, we understand that professional branding is as important as safety. This jacket is suitable for both embroidery and print customisation. For a traditional and durable finish, embroidery is the preferred choice for company logos and individual names, providing a texture that stands up well to the rigours of industrial use.

For larger, more prominent branding, our high-quality printing process offers a bold and clear finish. Our in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these techniques since 1976, ensuring that your customisation is applied with the utmost care to maintain the technical integrity of the multi-norm fabrics.

Use Cases

This jacket is ideally suited for workers in the petrochemical, utility, and rail industries, where multi-hazard protection is a mandatory requirement. Its robust construction also makes it an excellent choice for any outdoor professional who requires the highest level of weather protection combined with flame-retardant and anti-static capabilities.

Practical Advice

This jacket is designed as an outer shell, so we recommend selecting your standard size to allow for appropriate layering underneath. When choosing base or mid-layers to wear with this jacket, it is advisable to use flame-resistant garments to ensure your entire clothing system provides consistent protection.

Caring for your product

To ensure this jacket continues to provide the specified levels of protection, proper maintenance is vital. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. High temperatures can damage the bonded fabrics and compromise the flame-resistant properties over time.

Do not use bleach, as this will degrade the protective fibres and fade the high-visibility orange colour, potentially making the garment non-compliant with safety standards. The jacket should not be tumble dried; instead, it should be drip line dried to maintain the integrity of the PU coating and the shape of the garment.

Ironing and dry cleaning must be avoided. The heat from an iron can melt the synthetic components of the shell, while the chemicals used in dry cleaning may strip away the essential treatments that provide chemical and flame resistance.
