Product Overview
The Iona Winter Bomber Jacket (S434) is a high-performance, insulated garment designed for those who require enhanced visibility without compromising on warmth or weather protection. This jacket is part of our Enhanced Visibility range, offering a professional appearance in a classic black colourway while ensuring the wearer remains seen in low-light conditions. It combines a robust waterproof shell with thoughtful thermal features, such as a fleece-lined collar and knitted cuffs, to provide a substantial barrier against the elements during the colder months.
Key Features
- Waterproof Fabric and Taped Seams: The shell is constructed from 300D Oxford weave polyester with a double PU coating and taped seams, ensuring you remain completely dry even in heavy rain.
- Thermal Heat Retention: A fleece-lined collar and knitted cuffs work together to trap warm air inside the garment, preventing heat loss in freezing conditions.
- Practical Storage Solutions: Features a cleverly designed zip-out ID pocket that can also function as additional storage for tools or personal items.
- Concealed Hood: Provides versatile protection that can be tucked away when not required, maintaining a streamlined look.
- Print Access: A dedicated access point is included to facilitate easier custom branding without compromising the jacket's lining.
Design & Performance
Engineered for the demands of a busy workday, the shell is made from a heavy-duty 300D Industry polyester. This Oxford weave is chosen for its exceptional durability and resistance to abrasion. To further extend the life of the garment, the fabric is treated with a stain-resistant finish, helping it to look professional for longer despite the rigours of manual work. The interior is lined with smooth polyester taffeta and filled with a medium-weight polyester wadding, providing excellent insulation without being overly restrictive to movement.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The Iona Winter Bomber Jacket is a versatile canvas for your company branding. For those seeking a professional and permanent finish, embroidery is highly recommended for chest logos and staff names. Our Telford-based team uses high-quality threads to ensure your logo stands up to the same wear and tear as the jacket itself.
If you require large, high-impact designs across the back, printing is the ideal choice. The jacket features a specific print access point, allowing our technicians to apply bold, vibrant graphics effectively. Since 1976, MyWorkwear has specialised in these techniques, ensuring every garment leaving our facility meets our exacting standards.
Use Cases
This jacket is ideal for site managers, delivery drivers, and warehouse staff who need to remain warm and visible but do not require the full Class 3 high-visibility certification. Its black colour makes it particularly popular for security personnel or corporate teams who need a smart, unified appearance that can withstand the British winter.

Practical Advice
This jacket is cut in a regular fit to allow for standard workwear layering underneath. If you intend to wear several heavy layers or a thick sweatshirt during peak winter, you may wish to consider the measurements carefully to ensure a comfortable range of motion. The knitted cuffs are designed to be snug to keep the wind out, so ensure your gloves can be easily tucked in or worn over them.
Caring for your product
To maintain the technical waterproof properties and the integrity of your custom branding, it is important to follow specific care instructions. A mild domestic wash at 40°C is recommended. Using overly aggressive cycles or high heat can degrade the PU coating and damage the waterproof taped seams.
Do not use bleach when cleaning this garment. Chemical bleaching agents will break down the polyester fibres and strip away the stain-resistant finish, leading to premature wear and fading of the fabric.
The jacket should be drip line dried and must not be tumble dried. High heat from a dryer can cause the waterproof backing to melt or peel, effectively ruining the jacket's weatherproofing. Similarly, ironing should be avoided at all costs as it will cause permanent damage to the synthetic shell and any printed customisation.
