Product Overview
The H440 Hi-Vis Rain Jacket is a purposefully engineered garment designed to provide reliable protection in foul weather conditions. This jacket prioritises three core pillars of workplace safety: visibility, dryness, and practicality. It serves as an essential outer layer for those who require high-visibility protection without the bulk of a heavy winter coat. One of its most functional attributes is the ability to be easily rolled up and stored when the weather clears, making it an excellent choice for unpredictable climates.
Key Features
- Waterproof Construction: The fabric and PVC coating ensure the wearer remains dry during heavy rain, preventing the discomfort and safety risks associated with damp clothing.
- High-Visibility Orange: The vibrant colour ensures the wearer is easily seen in low-light environments or hazardous work zones, fulfilling critical safety requirements.
- Packable Design: Its lightweight nature allows it to be compressed and stored in small spaces, such as a vehicle cab or tool bag, so it is always ready for a sudden downpour.
- Polyester Mesh Yoke: The inclusion of a mesh yoke provides targeted breathability in a key area, assisting with moisture management during physical exertion.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a 190T 100% Polyester plain weave, the H440 is built to withstand the rigours of outdoor work while remaining flexible. The shell fabric is enhanced with a PVC coating, which acts as a formidable barrier against water penetration. Unlike heavier materials that can become cumbersome when wet, this lightweight fabric sheds water efficiently, ensuring the jacket does not become heavy or restrictive throughout the workday.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your uniform is a reflection of your professional standards. This rain jacket is suitable for both print and embroidery, allowing you to showcase your brand even in the worst weather. Embroidery is highly recommended for adding a professional finish with company logos or staff names, providing a durable and high-quality appearance. For larger, more prominent branding on the back of the jacket, our high-quality printing services offer a bold and clear finish.
Our expert team has been providing customisation services from our Telford-based facility since 1976. We manage every step of the process in-house to ensure that your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the integrity of the garment's waterproof properties where possible.
Use Cases
This jacket is an ideal choice for professionals across various sectors, including construction, logistics, and site management. It is particularly well-suited for workers who are frequently in and out of vehicles and require a quick, effective solution for rain protection. For those requiring a full uniform solution, it can be perfectly matched with the H441 Hi-Vis Rain Trousers to provide complete coverage.

Practical Advice
The H440 is designed with a generous fit to be worn over existing workwear. When selecting your size, consider the layers you typically wear underneath. If you are wearing a thick sweatshirt or fleece, this jacket will provide the necessary room without restricting movement. Its roll-up design means it should be folded carefully after use to avoid excessive creasing of the reflective elements.
Caring for your product
To ensure your jacket continues to provide maximum protection and remains compliant with safety standards, it is important to follow specific maintenance routines. Regular cleaning prevents the build-up of dirt, which can diminish the effectiveness of the fluorescent fabric and reflective strips.
We recommend a mild domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the PVC coating and lead to a loss of waterproof integrity. Do not use bleach, as these harsh chemicals will destroy the high-visibility pigments and weaken the polyester fibres.
This garment should not be tumble dried. High heat from a dryer can cause the PVC coating to peel or melt. Instead, the jacket should be drip-lined dried. Do not iron this jacket; direct heat will cause immediate damage to the waterproof shell. Finally, avoid dry cleaning and note that the garment is rated for a maximum of 25 washes to ensure the reflective properties remain within safety specifications.
