Product Overview
The Hi-Vis Contrast Winter Traffic Jacket is a substantial piece of outerwear designed to provide both protection and professional presentation in demanding environments. Engineered for those who require high visibility without sacrificing warmth, this jacket combines a striking Red and Navy colour scheme with a functional, weather-resistant construction. It is built to withstand the rigours of outdoor work while ensuring the wearer remains dry and comfortable throughout the working day.
Key Features
- Fully Waterproof Shell: The double PU coated fabric ensures that rain is repelled effectively, keeping the wearer dry during heavy downpours.
- Two-Way Front Zip and Studded Storm Flap: This combination provides a robust barrier against wind and rain, preventing water ingress through the fastening.
- Knitted Storm Cuffs: These internal cuffs help to trap heat and prevent cold air or moisture from entering the sleeves.
- Drawstring Hood: The adjustable hood offers additional protection for the head and neck, ensuring complete coverage in adverse conditions.
- Stain Resistant Finish: A specialised finish on the 300D Oxford weave helps to repel dirt and oil, keeping the garment looking cleaner for longer between washes.
Design & Performance
This jacket is constructed from 300D Oxford weave polyester, a fabric known for its exceptional durability and resistance to abrasions. The '300D' refers to the thickness of the yarns used in the weave, resulting in a sturdy, heavyweight garment that can handle the daily stresses of manual labour. The inclusion of a stain-resistant finish is a practical addition for those working in environments where grease or mud are common factors.
Inside, the jacket features a polyester lining and filling, providing effective insulation against the cold. The design is not just about protection; the contrast navy panels are strategically placed in areas prone to soiling, such as the lower body and cuffs, to maintain a professional appearance for longer. The fit is generous, allowing for layering over standard workwear without restricting movement.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
At MyWorkwear, we understand that your uniform is your brand. This jacket is highly suitable for both print and embroidery, though the choice depends on your specific needs. Embroidery is an excellent option for company logos or staff names, offering a sophisticated and long-lasting finish that stands up well to the elements. Because we have been operating our in-house facility in Telford since 1976, our team has the expertise to ensure your embroidery is applied with precision, maintaining the garment's waterproof integrity where possible.
For larger, more impactful branding—such as bold text across the back—printing is often the preferred method. It provides high visibility for your company name from a distance. Whichever method you choose, our experts ensure that the customisation process complements the high-visibility nature of the jacket.
Use Cases
This garment is specifically designed for professionals working in traffic management, logistics, construction, and any outdoor industry where visibility is a safety requirement. The insulated properties make it particularly suitable for winter use or for staff working in exposed, cold environments such as loading bays or large warehouses.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider what you will be wearing underneath. As a winter jacket, it is designed with a slightly roomier fit to accommodate jumpers or fleeces. If you are between sizes and do not intend to layer heavily, you may find the standard fit sufficient, but for those working in the peak of winter, the extra room is beneficial for thermal regulation.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-visibility performance and waterproof capabilities of this jacket, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so can lead to a reduction in safety compliance and garment lifespan.
We recommend a mild wash process at a maximum temperature of 40°C. Exceeding this temperature can damage the PU coating and cause the reflective tape to lose its luminosity. This jacket is rated for a maximum of 50 washes; after this point, the reflective properties may no longer meet the original safety standards.
Do not use bleach on this garment. Chlorine and other bleaching agents will destroy the fluorescent dyes in the fabric, rendering the jacket less visible and potentially unsafe. Similarly, do not dry clean the jacket, as the chemicals used in the process are too harsh for the waterproof membrane.
For drying, the jacket should be drip line dried only. Never tumble dry this garment, as the high heat will melt the synthetic fibres and cause the reflective strips to crack or peel. Ironing must also be avoided for the same reason—direct heat will cause irreversible damage to the polyester shell and the internal insulation.
