Product Overview
The GP Grip 18 Nitrile Smooth/Sandy Glove is a sophisticated piece of hand protection designed for professionals who refuse to sacrifice dexterity for safety. These gloves feature an exceptionally fine 18-gauge construction, providing a lightweight and flexible fit that mimics the natural movement of the hand. This makes them the preferred choice for precision handling tasks where tactile sensitivity is a non-negotiable requirement. Whether you are navigating oily components or working in dry assembly environments, these gloves ensure a secure grip without the bulk often associated with industrial hand protection.
Key Features
- 18-Gauge Precision Knit: The fine-knit construction offers a high level of touch sensitivity, allowing the wearer to handle small components and intricate tools with ease.
- Dual-Texture Nitrile Coating: The combination of smooth and sandy nitrile finishes provides a superior grip in wet, dry, or oily conditions, ensuring stability during complex tasks.
- Ergonomic Design: Specifically shaped to follow the natural contours of the hand, these gloves significantly reduce muscle fatigue during extended periods of wear.
- Dermatologically Tested: The materials have been rigorously tested to be skin-friendly, minimising the risk of irritation or contact dermatitis for those with sensitive skin.
- OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Certified: This certification guarantees that the gloves are free from harmful substances, ensuring they are safe for both the wearer and the work environment.
Design & Performance
Constructed from a technical blend of nylon and latex-free elastane, these gloves provide a snug, supportive fit that maintains its shape even after repeated use. The 18-gauge knit is remarkably fine, which allows for a level of dexterity that is often lost with thicker alternatives. This performance is enhanced by the nitrile coating, which is applied in two distinct finishes: a smooth base for overall protection and a sandy texture on the palms and fingertips to maximise friction and control.
Because the material is latex-free, it is an excellent alternative for users who suffer from natural rubber latex allergies. The overall design prioritises breathability and comfort, ensuring that the hands remain cool and dry, even when the pace of work increases.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or print, on these specific gloves. This is because the GP Grip 18 is a piece of high-precision personal protective equipment designed to fit like a second skin. Any additional stitching or heat-applied transfers would likely compromise the flexibility of the fine-gauge fabric, interfere with the ergonomic performance, and potentially create points of irritation against the skin.
Use Cases
These gloves are ideally suited for engineers, electronic technicians, and automotive assembly workers who require maximum feel for small parts. They are also highly effective for light manufacturing, maintenance work, and any role where the presence of light oils or moisture requires a dependable, slip-resistant grip.

Practical Advice
For precision tasks, it is essential to select the correct size. A glove that is too loose will impair your dexterity and can be a safety hazard, while a glove that is too tight will lead to hand cramp and fatigue. Given the lightweight nature of these gloves, they are best used as a primary layer for tasks requiring fine motor skills rather than heavy-duty abrasive work.
Caring for your product
To maintain the high-performance characteristics of the nitrile coating and the elasticity of the knit, proper maintenance is required. Regular washing helps to remove skin oils and external contaminants that can degrade the synthetic fibres over time.
We recommend a gentle machine wash at a low temperature using a mild detergent. Avoiding high heat is crucial; heat can cause the elastane to lose its recovery properties and may make the nitrile coating brittle, which will significantly reduce the lifespan of the glove.
Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners, as these will break down the molecular structure of the nitrile coating, reducing its effectiveness as a grip aid. For drying, air drying is the only recommended method. Tumble drying should be avoided as it can lead to shrinkage and damage the fine 18-gauge knit.
