Product Overview
The DX4 Winter Jacket is a high-performance solution for professionals who refuse to let the British weather dictate their productivity. Engineered as part of the All Weather Protection range, this jacket combines a technical stretch shell with advanced thermal insulation. By utilising a dynamic stretch fabric, it addresses the common trade-off between warmth and mobility, ensuring that site managers and tradespeople can move freely while remaining protected from the harshest winter conditions.
Key Features
- InsulatexPro Thermal Lining: This high-performance polyester insulation provides superior heat retention by trapping body heat within its fibres, ensuring you stay warm without the excessive bulk of traditional winter coats.
- Portwest Extreme Waterproof Shell: Constructed with a 150D polyester stretch fabric and a PU membrane, this shell offers a formidable barrier against rain and wind while maintaining essential breathability.
- Ergonomic Raglan Sleeves: The sleeve construction is specifically designed to follow the natural movement of the arms, preventing the jacket from riding up when reaching or lifting.
- Adjustable Protection: Featuring an adjustable hood, wind cuffs, and a dropped back length, the jacket effectively seals out draughts and provides extra coverage when bending or kneeling.
- Stretch Pongee Lining: The internal lining is crafted from stretch pongee, which moves in tandem with the outer shell to provide a consistent, comfortable fit throughout the day.
Design & Performance
The technical sophistication of the DX4 Winter Jacket lies in its layered construction. The outer shell is a medium-weight polyester stretch fabric that has been reinforced with a PU membrane, creating a durable shield against the elements. This is complemented by a substantial InsulatexPro filling, which is strategically weighted across the body, sleeves, and hood to provide maximum thermal efficiency where it is needed most.
To ensure long-term durability in active work environments, the jacket features an ergonomic profile that reduces stress on the seams during movement. The inclusion of wind cuffs serves a dual purpose: maintaining the internal micro-climate and preventing debris from entering the sleeves while working overhead.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
The DX4 Winter Jacket is an excellent canvas for corporate branding. For a professional, high-end finish that withstands the rigours of daily wear, we recommend embroidery. This is particularly suited for company logos and staff names on the chest, providing a permanent and textured appearance.
For larger, high-impact branding on the back of the jacket, our technical print processes are ideal. This allows for crisp, bold designs that remain legible even at a distance. Our in-house team in Telford has been perfecting these customisation techniques since 1976, ensuring your workwear represents your business with the professional appearance it deserves.
Use Cases
This jacket is specifically designed for outdoor professionals operating in cold and wet environments. It is perfectly suited for construction site management, civil engineering, logistics, and any trade requiring a professional appearance without sacrificing technical performance. The understated black colourway and sleek profile also make it a versatile choice for client-facing roles where a tidy, expert image is required.

Practical Advice
To maximise the thermal performance of this substantial jacket, we recommend wearing it over a moisture-wicking base layer or a medium-weight fleece. Due to the ergonomic fit and integrated stretch, you should find your standard size provides ample room for movement. If you frequently wear heavy mid-layers, consider how the raglan sleeves will interact with those garments when choosing your size.
Caring for your product
To maintain the waterproof integrity and thermal properties of the DX4 Winter Jacket, it is essential to follow the specific care instructions provided. Failure to do so may degrade the PU membrane and reduce the effectiveness of the insulation.
We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Higher temperatures can damage the synthetic fibres and the stretch properties of the fabric. Avoid the use of bleach at all costs, as this will chemically break down the waterproof membrane and cause the black colour to fade prematurely.
This garment should never be tumble dried. The intense heat of a dryer can melt the technical fabrics and cause the jacket to lose its shape. Instead, use a drip line dry method to allow the garment to dry naturally. Similarly, do not iron the jacket, as direct heat will destroy the synthetic shell and internal insulation. Finally, do not dry clean this item, as the chemicals used in the process are too harsh for the waterproof coating.
