Product Overview
The EP07 Detectable TPR Corded Ear Plugs are an essential safety solution designed for high-stakes environments where hearing protection and contamination control are equally critical. Manufactured from high-quality Thermo Plastic Rubber (TPR), these reusable ear plugs provide a durable and sustainable alternative to single-use foam options. Their distinctive blue colour and integrated detectability make them a staple for the food manufacturing sector, ensuring that safety protocols are met without compromising on worker comfort.
Key Features
- Integrated Metal Detectability: Using an advanced injection technique, metal shavings are infused directly into the TPR material. This ensures the entire plug is detectable by industrial scanners without the need for a separate metal ball that could potentially dislodge.
- Reusable TPR Material: The lightweight and flexible Thermo Plastic Rubber allows for repeated use, offering a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution than disposable ear plugs.
- PVC Cord for Loss Prevention: The attached cord allows the plugs to be worn around the neck when not in use, preventing them from falling into machinery or onto the floor, which is vital for maintaining a sterile production environment.
- Individual Hygienic Packaging: Each pair is supplied in its own polybag, ensuring they remain clean and uncontaminated until they are needed by the user.
Design & Performance
The design of the EP07 focuses on long-term wearability and industrial reliability. By incorporating metal shavings during the manufacturing process rather than inserting a metal ball, the integrity of the ear plug is maintained, and the risk of foreign object contamination is significantly reduced. The TPR material is chosen for its soft, pliable nature, which conforms to the shape of the ear canal to provide a consistent and reliable seal against ambient noise. The cord is made from sturdy PVC, ensuring it can withstand the rigours of a busy industrial setting without snapping.
Why No Customisation?
These ear plugs are classified as safety-critical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are designed for internal ear use. As such, they cannot be customised with logos or text. Any attempt to modify the surface of the TPR material would compromise the hygienic properties of the product and could interfere with the acoustic seal required to protect the wearer's hearing. Furthermore, the small surface area and the specific material properties of TPR do not allow for stable print or embroidery application.
Use Cases
These ear plugs are specifically recommended for the food industry, where metal detectability is a non-negotiable requirement. However, their robust and reusable design also makes them suitable for professionals in construction, aviation, and mechanical engineering who require reliable hearing protection that can be easily kept close at hand using the integrated cord.

Operating from our specialised facility in Telford, we bring decades of expertise to the selection and supply of high-quality PPE. We understand the technical requirements of different industries, ensuring that the products we provide—like these detectable ear plugs—meet the necessary safety standards for your peace of mind.
Practical Advice
For the best results, always follow the fitting instructions provided in the individual polybags. To achieve a proper seal, reach over your head with the opposite hand to pull the ear upwards and backwards before inserting the plug. If the plug is not seated correctly, the level of noise reduction will be significantly diminished, putting your hearing at risk.
Caring for your product
To ensure the longevity of your reusable ear plugs and to maintain ear health, it is vital to keep them clean. We recommend washing the TPR plugs with mild soap and warm water after every shift. Neglecting to clean them can lead to the accumulation of bacteria and earwax, which may cause ear infections or skin irritation.
Always allow the ear plugs to air dry completely before storing them. Avoid the use of industrial solvents or harsh chemicals, as these will degrade the Thermo Plastic Rubber, causing it to become brittle or lose its shape. If the plugs show any signs of tearing or if the material begins to harden, they should be replaced immediately to ensure continued protection.
