Product Overview
The Bizweld Work FR Jacket is a cornerstone of protective workwear, specifically engineered for environments where flame resistance is not just an advantage, but a necessity. Constructed from 100% cotton with a specialised finish, this jacket provides a reliable shield against heat and flames while ensuring the wearer remains comfortable throughout the working day. It balances technical protection with a functional design that caters to the practical needs of tradespeople.
Key Features
- Concealed Stud Front Closure: The front fastening is hidden to prevent snagging on equipment and to provide a smooth surface that reduces the risk of catching sparks.
- Dedicated Mobile Phone Pocket: A concealed pocket provides a secure location for communication devices, protecting them from the external environment while keeping them accessible.
- Dual Chest Pockets with Flaps: These pockets offer secure storage for essential tools or documents, with flaps designed to prevent debris from entering.
- Flame Resistant Reflective Tape: Positioned on the shoulders and sleeves, this tape ensures the wearer remains visible in low-light conditions without compromising the garment's protective integrity.
Design & Performance
This jacket is crafted from a substantial, heavyweight 100% cotton fabric. The Bizweld material is chosen for its inherent breathability and its ability to withstand the rigours of industrial work. The weave is tight and durable, providing a sturdy barrier against radiant, convective, and contact heat. Unlike lighter alternatives, this fabric feels significant and protective, offering the physical reassurance required when working in high-risk zones.
The fit is designed to allow for a full range of movement, ensuring that the protective qualities of the jacket do not hinder your performance on the job. The attention to detail in the stitching and construction ensures that the garment maintains its shape and protective properties even after repeated use in demanding conditions.
Customisation: Print & Embroidery
Maintaining a professional corporate identity is straightforward with the Bizweld FR Jacket. This garment is well-suited for both embroidery and print customisation. For a traditional, high-quality finish, we recommend embroidery for company logos and staff names; it provides a durable, raised texture that looks professional and lasts the life of the garment.
If your branding requires larger, high-impact graphics, our print services are an excellent alternative. All customisation is handled in-house at our Telford facility by our expert team, which has been refining these techniques since 1976. We ensure that your branding is applied with precision, maintaining the professional appearance your business demands.
Use Cases
This jacket is primarily designed for professionals working in welding, metalwork, and related industries where protection against heat and flame is mandatory. It is equally suitable for site supervisors and engineers who require a high level of visibility and protection while moving through hazardous work areas.

Practical Advice
Given the substantial nature of the Bizweld fabric, this jacket works best when layered over flame-resistant base layers to ensure comprehensive protection. When selecting your size, consider the clothing you intend to wear underneath to ensure a comfortable fit that does not restrict your movement during technical tasks.
Caring for your product
To maintain the protective properties of the flame-resistant fabric and ensure the longevity of your custom branding, proper care is essential. We recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures or using aggressive cycles can prematurely degrade the flame-resistant treatment and may cause your logos to fade.
Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will chemically damage the flame-resistant fibres, rendering the jacket unsafe for use in hazardous environments. Similarly, do not dry clean the garment, as the chemicals used in that process can interfere with the fabric's protective finish.
We advise that the jacket be line dried. Using a tumble dryer can cause excessive shrinkage and mechanical wear on the fabric and reflective tape. If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C to remove creases without scorching the material or damaging any printed elements.
