Product Overview

The Bizweld Work FR Cape Hood is an essential piece of protective equipment designed for those operating in hazardous environments where flame resistance is paramount. Part of our Flame Resistant Multi-Norm range, this hood provides vital coverage for the head and neck areas that are often left vulnerable. Engineered from a substantial heavy-duty cotton fabric, it offers a reliable barrier against heat and flame without compromising the comfort required for a full day's work. It is designed to be worn in conjunction with a compatible flame-resistant coverall, jacket, or trouser set to ensure comprehensive protection across the upper body.

Key Features

  • Self-fabric drawcord: This allows for precise adjustment around the face, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit that remains stable even during active movement.
  • 100% Cotton Bizweld fabric: The use of natural cotton provides excellent breathability and moisture-wicking properties while maintaining its protective integrity.
  • Substantial fabric weight: This heavy-duty material is specifically designed to withstand the rigours of industrial work, offering enhanced durability and longevity.
  • Cape design: Provides extended coverage over the shoulders and neck, preventing gaps in protection when paired with other safety garments.

Design & Performance

The performance of the Bizweld Work FR Cape Hood lies in its construction from 100% Cotton Bizweld fabric. This material is chosen for its inherent strength and its ability to provide thermal protection while remaining soft against the skin. The fabric's substantial weight ensures it can handle the physical demands of welding and similar industrial tasks. Because it is made of cotton, it avoids the synthetic irritation often found in lower-quality safety gear, making it a preferred choice for long-term wear in hot or demanding conditions.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite its protective nature, this cape hood can be customised to align with your corporate branding. Embroidery is highly recommended for adding company logos or staff names; it provides a professional, textured finish that is exceptionally durable. For those requiring larger, high-impact branding, print options are also available. Every customisation is handled by our expert in-house team in Telford, drawing on decades of experience to ensure your branding is applied without compromising the garment's protective qualities.

Use Cases

This garment is specifically intended for professionals working in welding, grinding, and metalwork industries where sparks and heat are constant risks. It must always be worn as part of a complete flame-resistant outfit, acting as a secondary layer of protection for the head and neck. It is equally suitable for site-based engineering roles and industrial manufacturing environments where safety standards are rigorous.

We understand the necessity of reliable safety equipment, and our team is dedicated to ensuring that every product we supply—and every logo we apply—meets our exacting standards of quality.

Practical Advice

When fitting the cape hood, ensure the drawcord is tightened sufficiently to prevent the hood from obscuring your vision while ensuring no skin is left exposed between the hood and your jacket collar. As this is a flame-resistant item, always check that your outer garments also meet the required safety certifications for your specific task.

Caring for your product

To maintain the flame-resistant properties and the structural integrity of the heavy-duty cotton, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 40°C using a mild process. Washing at higher temperatures may cause unnecessary shrinkage and could degrade the protective finish over time.

Do not use bleach under any circumstances. Bleaching agents will chemically react with the flame-resistant treatment, rendering the garment unsafe for use in hazardous environments.

This item should not be tumble dried. We advise line drying to maintain the shape and fit of the hood. If ironing is required, use a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C to remove creases without damaging the cotton fibres. Finally, do not dry clean this product, as industrial solvents can strip away the protective qualities of the fabric.
