Product Overview

The Bizflame Work Lightweight Stretch Panelled FR Trousers represent a sophisticated shift in flame-resistant workwear. Designed for those who require rigorous protection without the restrictive bulk of traditional safety garments, these trousers utilise a lightweight cotton-rich fabric. The inclusion of strategically placed stretch panels addresses the historical issue of limited mobility in protective clothing, ensuring that the wearer can move freely through complex tasks while maintaining essential safety standards.

Key Features

  • Stretch Panelling: Integrated panels allow for an increased range of motion, reducing fabric pull when bending or kneeling.
  • Crotch Gusset: This design feature reduces stress on the seams, significantly extending the life of the garment in high-activity roles.
  • Two-Tier Knee Pad Pockets: Allows for the precise positioning of knee protection to suit the wearer's height and working style.
  • Adjustable Leg Length: Provides a versatile fit, ensuring the trousers sit correctly over safety footwear to prevent tripping hazards.
  • Multi-functional Thigh Pockets: Offers secure, dedicated storage for mobile devices and tools, keeping essentials within reach at all times.

Design & Performance

The primary construction consists of Bizflame Work fabric, a blend of 99% cotton and 1% carbon fibre. This combination provides the breathable comfort of a natural fibre alongside the permanent anti-static and flame-resistant properties required for hazardous environments. For the areas requiring maximum flexibility, a contrast stretch fabric is used, incorporating elastane to provide the necessary 'give' without compromising the integrity of the protection. The lightweight nature of the material makes these trousers particularly suitable for indoor work or warmer climates where heat stress is a concern.

Customisation: Print & Embroidery

Despite the technical nature of the flame-resistant fabric, these trousers are well-suited for professional branding. Embroidery is the preferred choice for corporate logos and staff names, providing a durable and refined, professional appearance that withstands industrial laundering. For larger, high-visibility branding on the legs, print techniques can be applied. All customisation is managed in-house by our expert team in Telford, ensuring your branding is applied with the same precision we have maintained since 1976.

Use Cases

These trousers are an excellent choice for electricians, engineers, and technicians working in industries where there is a risk of flash fire or static build-up. Their lightweight construction and high mobility make them ideal for maintenance roles that involve climbing, crawling, or working in confined spaces.

Practical Advice

The adjustable leg length feature is particularly useful for teams with varied heights, allowing for a custom-feeling fit without the need for bespoke tailoring. When pairing these trousers with base layers, ensure your undergarments are also made of non-melting fibres to maintain the full protective efficacy of your flame-resistant system.

Caring for your product

To maintain the protective properties of the Bizflame fabric and ensure the longevity of any custom branding, we recommend a domestic wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Washing at higher temperatures may prematurely degrade the flame-resistant treatment and the elastic components in the stretch panels.

Do not use bleach when laundering this garment. Bleach can compromise the chemical structure of the flame-resistant fibres and may lead to a loss of protection. For drying, use a low heat setting on your tumble dryer to prevent excessive shrinkage. Excessive heat can also damage the carbon fibres that provide anti-static properties.

When ironing, do not exceed a temperature of 150°C. Maintaining a moderate temperature protects the fabric's integrity and prevents the heat-setting of any accidental stains. This garment should not be dry cleaned, as the chemicals used in the process can interfere with the flame-resistant finish.
