Product Overview

The K-Skip S3S ESD HRO SC FO SR from the Kaptiv collection is a masterclass in modern safety footwear engineering. This low-profile shoe combines a striking Black and Green aesthetic with a water-resistant technical fabric upper, providing a professional appearance without sacrificing the rugged protection required on-site. Designed for the discerning professional who requires a blend of lightweight agility and heavy-duty safety certification, this shoe is built to withstand demanding environments while maintaining a high level of comfort.

Key Features
  • Aluminium Toe Cap: Provides 200 joules of impact resistance while remaining significantly lighter than traditional steel, reducing wearer fatigue during long shifts.
  • SmellStop Antibacterial Lining: This specialised anti-odour and antibacterial lining prevents the growth of bacteria, ensuring your footwear remains fresh and hygienic even after strenuous use.
  • Fresh’n Flex Midsole: A super-light, non-metallic puncture-resistant insert that protects against sharp objects underfoot, such as a 3mm nail, without compromising the flexibility of the shoe.
  • ESD Protection: Designed to protect sensitive electronic devices from electrostatic discharges, making these ideal for specialised manufacturing and technology environments.
  • HRO Heat Resistance: The outsole is capable of resisting temperatures up to 300°C for one minute, providing essential protection in high-heat industrial settings.

Design & Performance

The K-Skip is constructed with a double-density AirTech PU and HRO Rubber outsole, offering a perfect balance between cushioning and durability. The inclusion of the Dry’n Air comfort insole ensures excellent vapour permeability, promoting breathability and keeping feet dry throughout the working day. For those working in kneeling positions or high-impact roles, the protective TPU scuff cap significantly extends the lifespan of the shoe by preventing wear on the toe area.

Ergonomically designed for efficiency, the shoe features a substantial, sturdy build that does not feel cumbersome. The slip-resistant (SR) outsole has been tested on ceramic and glycerin surfaces, providing the grip necessary to prevent accidents in challenging conditions. The technical fabric upper is not only water-resistant but also highly durable, ensuring the shoe performs as well as it looks.

Why No Customisation?

At MyWorkwear, we prioritise your safety and the integrity of your PPE. This specific item is sold without customisation because the application of embroidery or heat-applied transfers can compromise the technical properties of the footwear. Altering the upper could negatively affect the water resistance or the specific ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) ratings that these shoes are certified to meet. By providing them as-is, we ensure you receive the full protection promised by the manufacturer.

Use Cases

These shoes are perfectly suited for professionals in electronics manufacturing, high-tech laboratories, and cleanroom environments where ESD protection is non-negotiable. Their heat-resistant outsoles and water-resistant uppers also make them an excellent choice for tradespeople working in light industrial settings, warehousing, or maintenance roles where varied hazards are a daily occurrence.

Practical Advice

To ensure the best fit, please note that this style offers specific widths, with a 10.5 width for women and a 12 width for men. We recommend pairing these shoes with technical socks that aid moisture-wicking, which will complement the Dry’n Air ventilation system and maximise overall foot health. If you require bespoke orthopaedic inserts, these shoes are compatible and comply with European norm DGUV112-191.

Caring for your product

To maintain the high-performance standards of your K-Skip footwear, regular maintenance is essential. Neglecting to clean the technical fabric upper can lead to the build-up of debris, which may eventually degrade the water-resistant properties and reduce breathability.

We recommend cleaning your shoes with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution if necessary. Avoid machine washing, as the mechanical action and detergents can break down the adhesives and technical linings, such as the SmellStop antibacterial treatment. Always allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Never place them directly on a radiator or use high-heat sources to dry them, as this can cause the rubber outsole to become brittle or the technical fabrics to shrink and crack.
