Product Overview

The Base K-Road Top S3 HRO CI SRC is a sophisticated piece of safety footwear from the Kaptiv collection, designed to meet the rigorous demands of industrial environments. These boots are not merely protective; they are engineered with advanced materials to ensure that safety does not come at the expense of comfort or mobility. Built to comply with EN ISO 20345 standards, they offer a comprehensive suite of features ranging from heat resistance to advanced shock absorption, making them a reliable choice for professionals who spend long hours on their feet in unpredictable conditions.

Key Features

  • Aluminium Toe Cap: Capable of resisting up to 200 joules of impact, this lightweight alternative to steel ensures your toes are protected from heavy falling objects without adding unnecessary weight to the boot.

  • Puncture Resistant Fresh’n Flex Midsole: This integrated layer prevents sharp objects from piercing the sole, providing peace of mind when navigating sites with debris or nails.

  • SmellStop Antiodor Lining: The antibacterial treatment within the lining actively prevents the growth of bacteria, ensuring the footwear remains fresh and hygienic even after strenuous use.

  • i-daptive® Technology: This intelligent system provides dynamic comfort by adapting to the terrain and the wearer’s movements, offering stability and reducing the risk of musculoskeletal fatigue.

  • Heat and Cold Insulation: The outsole is heat resistant up to 300°C for short durations, while the cold insulation properties protect the wearer in temperatures as low as -17°C.

Design & Performance

The K-Road Top is a substantial and sturdy boot, constructed with a double-density PU and HRO rubber outsole. This combination ensures excellent grip and durability against hydrocarbons and varying surfaces. The water-resistant upper is specifically designed to prevent moisture penetration, keeping the feet dry in inclement weather or damp working conditions.

Performance is further enhanced by the shock absorption in the heel region, which dissipates energy during each step. This is particularly beneficial for workers on hard concrete or uneven ground, as it reduces the cumulative impact on the joints. The inclusion of i-daptive® technology ensures that the boot responds to your gait, providing a stable platform regardless of the environment.

Why No Customisation?

We do not offer customisation, such as embroidery or printing, on the K-Road Top safety boots. This is because these boots are certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that must adhere to strict EN ISO 20345 safety standards. Any modification to the upper material, such as needle punctures from embroidery, could potentially compromise the water resistance and the structural integrity of the boot, thereby invalidating its safety certification and potentially putting the wearer at risk.

Use Cases

These boots are ideally suited for heavy-duty roles within construction, engineering, and logistics. Because of the HRO-rated heat resistance and CI-rated cold insulation, they are particularly effective for those working in tarmac laying, foundry peripheries, or cold storage environments. The anti-static properties also make them appropriate for environments where sensitive electronic equipment is present.

Why MyWorkwear

Since 1976, MyWorkwear has been providing high-quality technical apparel and safety gear from our base in Telford. We understand that in demanding trades, your equipment is as important as your expertise. With nearly five decades of experience, we curate our range to ensure that every product we supply meets the high standards of durability and protection that British industry requires.

Practical Advice

The K-Road Top is designed with both men’s and women’s widths in mind to ensure a secure fit for all professionals. For those with specific postural requirements, these boots are compatible with orthopaedic made-to-measure footbeds, complying with European DGUV112-191 norms. We recommend ensuring the boots are laced securely to fully engage the i-daptive stability system.

Caring for your product

To maintain the performance and safety certifications of your boots, it is essential to keep them clean. Regularly removing dirt and debris from the upper with a damp cloth prevents the material from drying out and cracking, which would otherwise compromise the water-resistant properties.

Avoid exposing the boots to direct heat sources, such as radiators, when drying them out. Rapid drying can lead to the materials becoming brittle, which could reduce the lifespan of the HRO rubber outsole and the integrity of the PU midsole. Instead, allow them to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
