Product Overview
The K-Balance from the Base Kaptiv collection represents a sophisticated approach to safety footwear, designed for professionals who require a blend of agility and robust protection. Unlike standard safety boots, this low shoe is engineered with i-daptive® technology, which intelligently manages energy to provide stability on uneven surfaces and comfort during prolonged periods of movement. It is a well-balanced piece of safety equipment that meets the rigorous UNI EN ISO 20345:2012 S1P standards, ensuring that your feet remain protected without the bulk often associated with industrial footwear.
Key Features
- Aluminium Toe Cap: The 200-joule resistant aluminium cap offers essential impact protection while remaining significantly lighter than traditional steel, reducing wearer fatigue throughout the day.
- Fresh’n Flex Puncture Resistance: An integrated midsole provides a barrier against sharp objects underfoot, ensuring safety on sites where debris or nails are a common hazard.
- SmellStop Antiodor Lining: The antibacterial lining prevents the growth of bacteria and fungi, effectively managing odour and maintaining a healthier environment for the foot.
- Heat Resistant Outsole: Designed to withstand temperatures of up to 300°C for one minute, this shoe is suitable for environments where hot surfaces are a factor.
- Shock Absorption: Advanced cushioning in the heel region reduces the impact of every step, protecting your joints during long shifts on hard floors.
Design & Performance
The construction of the K-Balance utilizes a Double-Density PU and HRO Rubber outsole, which provides a high degree of slip resistance (SRC) and hydrocarbon resistance. This ensures reliable traction on both ceramic and steel surfaces, even when contaminated with oil or water. The upper is designed to be breathable yet durable, accommodating both men’s and women’s widths for a more inclusive and precise fit.
The inclusion of i-daptive® technology is a significant performance benefit; it acts as an active suspension system that adapts to your gait, providing a smoother transition and better posture. For those with specific foot requirements, the footwear is also compatible with orthopaedic made-to-measure footbeds, complying with European DGUV112-191 norms.
Why No Customisation?
We do not offer customisation on the K-Balance/K-Walk safety shoes to ensure the absolute integrity of the product. Safety footwear is a piece of certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Any secondary processes, such as embroidery or heat-applied printing, could compromise the protective properties of the upper material or interfere with the anti-static and electrical resistance certifications. Your safety is our primary concern, and as such, we supply these shoes exactly as they were tested and certified by the manufacturer.
Use Cases
This footwear is ideally suited for professionals working in logistics, light industry, and various trades where a high level of mobility is required. Its heat-resistant properties make it an excellent choice for those working in environments with high ambient temperatures or hot flooring, while the anti-static features are essential for those working with sensitive electronic equipment.

Practical Advice
When selecting your size, consider the type of socks you will be wearing, as thick work socks may require a slightly more generous fit. Ensure the laces are tied securely to allow the i-daptive® technology to correctly support your foot and ankle movement. If you require orthopaedic insoles, ensure they are fitted by a professional to maintain compliance with DGUV112-191 standards.
Caring for your product
To maintain the performance and longevity of your safety footwear, it is essential to keep them clean. Accumulated dirt and grime can degrade the double-density PU and rubber over time, potentially reducing the flexibility and grip of the outsole. We recommend wiping the exterior with a damp cloth after use to remove any surface contaminants.
If the shoes become wet, they should be allowed to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area. Never place them directly on or near a heat source such as a radiator, as rapid drying can cause the materials to become brittle or cause the adhesives to fail, ultimately compromising the structural integrity of the shoe.
